East Lothian Clinical Canine Massage Centre Description

As a canine massage therapist I rehabilitate soft tissue injuries that you may see as lameness or limping. I support orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis or hip dysplasia as a form of pain management.
I work with all types of dogs from small to large breeds, pet dogs, performance dogs such as agility or Cani-X dogs, working dogs and aging dogs.
I assess the dogs gait to see if they are limping, their posture to see if they are standing correctly, look at changes to their activities of daily living such as not being able to go upstairs anymore or jump on and off the sofa, or maybe changes to their behaviour in that they do not want to be touched anymore. Or maybe they are an agility dog that has started to knock poles.
This is clinical process where I work to best practise which means that results should be seen in 1 to 3 sessions.

A big thank you to ICR Veterinary Surgeons for allowing me to come along to their Loanhead practice yesterday for a lunch 'n learn presentation about clinical canine massage as a complementary therapy option and the new Integrated Veterinary Care Initiative that the Canine Massage Guild launched earlier this year. I was delighted to see so many faces on such a hot day which was really appreciated as I'm sure you would all have loved to be outside during your lunch hour. 👋👋 If you are interested in finding out more about the new initiative as a vet or a dog owner then please visit my website and click the link at the bottom of the page. https://www.dogmassage-eastlothian.co.uk/

What an amazing day for the Canine Massage Guild. Wish I had been there to help too! 👏 If you are planning on going to any of the other dogfest events then pop round to their stand for a chat and a free muscular health check on your dog! 😊

The very best of luck to Sam and Erin Inverarity this week at the 2019 world agility open championships! It has been an honour to work on Sam over the last few weeks making sure he is in tip tip condition ready for slightly higher jumps than he usually does for this event. He is SO ready for IT! 😁😍🐾 Wishing you a safe and successful journey! Massage isn't just for your older dogs but for performance dogs too. So if you are competing your dog in a sport and would like them to be at their best then message me to book an appointment or to discuss further 😊

Now I have moved to The Mart in East Linton I have decided to open this Sunday to offer your dog **FREE** muscular health checks. 🐾 Come along to the Sunday Market at the Mart and once you've had a look around and finished shopping then pop in to see me before you leave. I will check around 30 pairs of muscles looking for strains, trigger points and /or myofascial pain. 🐾 This is a superficial check across the whole body and really only takes around 5 minutes or so. Please n...ote this is not a clinical massage as this requires veterinary consent. 🐾 If you don't have your dog with you but would like more information then please come over for a chat. I hope to see you there! 🐾

(Please remember you need vet consent before you can book! - all appointments will be reviewed and confirmed by me as some spaces may be taken due to this being a new system). Come along to the BPR Fun Dog Show this Sunday 28th April. I will be there offering free muscular health checks for your dog. I am excited to be supporting them this year and going back in time a little as I used to volunteer there a long time ago. Jani Neilson of Happy Hound Canine Massage will be joining me so their will be 2 pairs of hands to do the checking! 😁

Learning more mfr techniques on the ventral aspect with Natalie Lenton. Feeling remotivatied, focused, exhausted and exhilarated all in one go. Meg has been so patient in letting me practise with her and although she can be a bit prickly with other dogs at times she makes up for it by helping them this way. Without her, I couldn't do what I do to help your dogs. Special treat for her coming soon! Long journey home tomorrow, looking forward to seeing my Bailey and of course Mike 😉❤️😊💕🐾

Amazing day learning more beneficial fascia release techniques at the Canine Massage Therapy Centre today and more to follow tomorrow! Meg and I chilled out after at uffmoor woods checking out some bluebells, deer, nuthatch, song thrush and no doubt thousands more but without Mike Knight we are at a loss to name! Brilliant sunshine and 21 degrees in the sun... Still a chill in the air but we sat outside for a bit before having our tea. Looking forward to learning more tomorrow.

Meg and I are on our way down South in the caravan for some continued professional development training. Just spotted for a quick walk round Annandale Water. (can you spot the caravan?)
