Welcome to Hatty's Cottage. A self catering holiday cottage in East Lothian, Hatty's is a delightful little country hideaway set in a secluded and sunny area of the owner's large garden. The entrance to Hatty's is through a long rose arch into the private patio garden, and the cottage has just been fully renovated to a high standard.

Hattys Cottage is reached down a quiet, tree lined lane leading off the road linking the charming coastal villages of Aberlady and Gullane. The location provides an ideal base from which to explore the East Lothian countryside, to enjoy the wonderful clean beaches, to walk through the magical Aberlady nature reserve and to visit the countless famed golf courses. There are good road and rail links that allow easy access to Edinburgh city centre. There are extensive shopping facilities, excellent restaurants and pubs in the local area.

the weather has been blissful and we are quietly praying for some rain ! Outdoor living has been the norm and everything has been growing like topsy. The roses have been spectacular and the next flush is in bud. The Scottish Open was been a great success and Gullane was buzzing with activity. The madness has moved on to Carnoustie now so its back to a more peaceful existence -thank goodness

Despite 2 beasts from the east and “That Easter weekend”, the garden is flourishing and the birds are pouring their hearts out. Turf war between duelling robins, and noisy male nuthatches seems to be resolved at last ,and the bird boxes are nabbed- watch this space. Looking from my kitchen window, Golfers are appearing in their best plumage too. Spring at last?
During the snow,we had 2 intrepid visitors from the balmy south. They finally arrived a day late ( via a Northumberland snow drift from which they were rescued) but settled into our cottage , declaring it cosy and comfortable ! Should we have given them a prize for effort !!!
