East Of Scotland Microlights

East of Scotland Microlights stand location at East Fortune on Saturday 27th July is the normal place. The map shows the spot. The good weather has been booked so be prepared with sun cream. Here are a few photographs from previous years to get you in the mood.

Scotland's National Airshow is at East Fortune Airfield on Saturday 27th July and we will be there with our HypeR, along with the BMAA and their flexwing simulator - we're excited to try it too! Early bird tickets available until tomorrow, Thursday 11th, so grab them quickly. We hope to see lots of you there!
See aircraft old and new take to the skies for an afternoon of breathtaking aerial displays, including the RAF Typhoon, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Blades ...aerobatic display team and many more.

Where will you be on Saturday the 27th July 2019? East of Scotland Microlights will be at Scotland's National Airshow just the other side of the road at The National Museum of Flight.

Plenty of flying today before the rain arrived. Quite a number of visitors on "Fly-UK2019"

Yesterday we had a coffee morning at the airfield in aid of our local respite centre, Leuchie House. It was the idea of Sarah Curtis and she baked up a storm, along with some delicious contributions by members. As always, we were fantastically supported by lots of club members and their families and friends who came and ate their way through it all and made extra donations. The final figure raised? £460!!! A really fun event which we hope to repeat each year, perhaps with a different charitable cause each time. Thanks to all who made it such a special day.🍰🍪🍩☕️

At last (after 8 weeks of CAA nonsense) Jordan Bathgate has got his pilot's licence - at the same time as he passed his driving test! And got a place at university to study aeronautical engineering. Very well done to Jordan - he's been a pleasure to have as a student pilot and we wish him every success in the future. Of course he'll be back regularly to fly his beloved Quik!

Sky a bit overcast today with rain forecast later at East of Scotland Microlights. This does not deter the flexwing pilots.

Stuart Bannister from Pooleys had a surprise yesterday - he was persuaded to sit in the back of a QuikR when Gordon took it up for a check flight. He seemed very happy to be 'self-loading ballast' and loved his first ever flight in a flexwing! Come back for a longer flight next time, Stu!!

Today was a day when you remember why you live in Scotland and fly P&M Flexwings. All that clear airspace, friendly people and the Instructors fully occupied. It was such a good day we also had a few fixed wing visitors, who are always welcomed.

At 8.45 this morning there were already 5 P&M Flexwings outside ready to take to the sky.
