Things to Consider When Getting Started with the CIE-H12 - The Sollae CIE-H12, which is available through EasySYNC, is an Ethernet remote I/O controller with 2 input ports and 1 relay output port, plus HTTP, Modbus/TCP and Macro functions. It is designed for monitoring of remote sensor devices and subsequent processing of the digital data received. As the input ports and the output port are independent, it is possible to use the input ports only, the output port only, or corr...elatively use all ports via the Macro mode.
Before testing the CIE-H12, it is advised to connect the Ethernet port to a PC. A green light (which blinks every second) on LINK LED means proper operation has been achieved. It will not be a problem that the Ethernet connection is established through network hubs. By setting both the CIE-H12 and the PC so they are located on the same network means that a TCP connection can then be established between them. To add or change the IP address of the network adapter on the PC go into the menu of the Windows Control Panel and click on Network Connections then Properties of the Network Adapter. The properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) will be displayed. Click on Advanced button and add the relevant IP address.
The ezManager management tool is employed for configuring the CIE-H12 (suitable for use with Windows operating systems). It is very easy to use and doesn’t require a complex installation process. First, search for the CIE-H12 via network. All the values of parameters are set to the default values in the factory. To apply it to your system, proper. Default values for major parameters can be provided by EasySYNC. New values that are suitable for specific applications should be set via ezManager.
Once configuration process has been completed, it is recommended that the following simple test procedure is carried out to ensure full operational effectiveness of the CIE-H12. Firstly reset the unit. Its factory default IP will be 10.1.0.1 and subnet mask is 255.0.0.0. If the CIE-H12 has the different parameters from above then click Search All on ezManager. Then click the MAC address of CIE-H12 which has to be reset, check the Advanced Menu before clicking Factory Reset. Next set the band for the communication test of a PC and CIE-H12. Once this has been done you can carry out a simple data communication test. The procedure is as follows. Firstly execute the IP Manager program. Then choose the network adaptor linked to CIE-H12 and input IP 10.1.0.2 and subnet mask 255.0.0.0. Next click Add and confirm above addresses has been added completely.
Thereafter the following steps should be done for each proceeding communication test. Run a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, or FireFox).
