In the music industry, singers often perform backing vocals for other artists. It’s much the same with wedding photography. So Saturday I was the second shooter to Kiain from Lenscurve photography, for a wedding at the Mansion House, Edinburgh Zoo.
Unfortunately the actual zoo was closed due to the weather (a mixture of sunshine, strong wind and blizzards! ☀️ 🌬 🌨)

Tomorrow we start making our way home. The coming week is going to be super busy! On Saturday I’m shooting a wedding, and on Sunday I’ll be heading to the Scotlands Business Awards and Tuesday is the The Scottish Wedding Awards!! Wish me luck!

Can I reveal something personal? I work because I want to be creative and I like travelling to far off places on holiday. But something that pushes me even beyond that is thinking of how my work creates a lasting memory for your family. I have to say, it’s pretty powerful. When people ask WHY I pursued a career in photography, I simply respond that making YOUR life better is all the reason I need. How can I help you today?

February is the month of LOVE

Sometimes my weekends comprise of venue scouting! This is where I make a visit to the venue I’m due to be shooting at in the future (usually for a wedding or event). I like to have a look around, find places that spark my interest as potential backdrops for shots. I take notes and sometimes some pictures to remind myself what I have planned. Do you do any special planning for your work?

Do you miss getting letters in the post? I used to have a couple of pen friends that I would write to. It was always lovely to get something nice in the post! Who would you write to/like to receive a letter from?

Toot! Toot! I’m always a little sheepish about tooting my own horn, in spite of how proud I feel about the work I do. But I’ll step out of my comfort zone this time, and I’ll let Rosie do the tooting. I worked with Rosie & her Mum Una on a shoot to celebrate Una’s 90th birthday, and had an absolute blast! This is the lovely 5⭐️ review she left for me on Google.
