Ecco Vino Description
We served the finest, freshest local seafood along side some of the best wines the planet has to offer. As well as food & wine, the restaurant is famous for its ambience, atmosphere and warm welcome and our love of food is only matched by our love of music. Blues, jazz folk, wherever the mood take us. Trains have been missed & plans have been changed as people who come in for a quick glass of wine often end up spending the rest of the night with us. Forget where your going at Ecco Vino.
Please not that we allow children on the premises until 7pm

Ladies and gentleman, unfortunately there has been a power fault on our street and we have been left with absolutely no electricity. We have been advised that this will take until this evening to repair so we are unable to open. Please accept our sincere apologies, we will let you know as soon as the power is back on.
Love the Ecco Vino team.

Hello lovely people, just to let you all know that we will be back to business as usual from THIS THURSDAY. We cannot wait to see you all again...! The Ecco Vino team x
Heres one we made earlier..... our signature dish - the Seafood Platter.
First sea bream of the day...
Fresh, Shetland mussels, served with crusty bread. Choose from 3 different types of sauces - mariniere, chorizo & whisky or bloody mary.
Local & fresh seafood delivered daily.
With our open plan kitchen, you can watch all your dishes being made from scratch right in from of your eyes, isn't that right Franco?
Pan fried sea bream with avocado, strawberries walnuts and tomatoes.
Seared duck breast with lentils, kale & red wine jus.
We enjoyed scallops & black pudding followed by smoked salmon & home made pesto with spaghetti and pork belly. This restaurant was a great find. Couldn't get in last night as it was so busy but glad we came back tonight. Attentive & friendly service.
Very cool little place to visit especially in the evening or late at night. If you are a salad person I highly recommend the grilled goat cheese salad it was by far better then any salad I've had in the US.
Superb, just superb.Beautiful food served by lovely staff
Our recent visit to Edinburgh was crowned by this excellent little place. We enjoyed first class fresh food - - mostly fishy/seafood and excellent friendly service outside on a gloriously warm late afternoon. I can't guarantee the weather but I will recommend the restaurant.
Lovely little bolthole which has a great atmosphere and wine list. The food choices are pretty good given the size of the place but the quality delivered is absolutely 100%. What they do, they do brilliantly! Love this place whether dining formal or casual, it always works!
Lovely friendly little restaurant, food is stunning, selection of wine is great and service was excellent. They were fantastic with our daughter and made her some pasta (not on the menu) thank you
I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it. I read a few comments about not being a Child Friendly place... well, this makes me go there even more. Sorry for people that have kids but other customers like me kind of enjoy the piece and quiet and having an "adults only" restaurant.
Food is fantastic, service as well plus a very good wine list.
Friendly, informal, great wine list and a small but excellently curated whisky list made for a great (if slightly boozy) midweek lunch. The food was stand up rather than exceptional but the price reflected this. Great value lunch spot.
Frequent visitor to Edinburgh but first time here. Nice wee atmospheric wine bar type vibe going on. We had a couple of their 'small plates' and a 'small' mussels with a bottle of wine. All were great and pretty reasonably priced. Well worth a try!!
Delicious food & wine, beautiful wine bar, excellent staff!
Came here on Saturday and the food was superb!! We will definitely be heading back to Edinburgh to eat here.
Amazing dining experience again at Ecco Vino!
Love this place, food is great, wine is great, but less of the pea shoots please & a table clean after eating would be nice
I love Ecco Vino! In the event of the zombie apocalypse this is where I will head and then I can see out the end of civilization in the most civilized place in Edinburgh!
Great place good selection wines and food tasty and good servings. Only minor grump was difference between food quality sat versus sunday even though had same main. Highly recommend
Good service and food
Lovely little wine bar however service was awful - staff miserable and made us feel like a hindrance and extremely unwelcoming. Shame as it ruined what could be a lovely place.
Hello
I regret the "stubbornness" of the waiter to not want to serve a glass of wine to my 22 year old daughter because she did not have her passport with her. We presented him with an official document from his passport justifying his age, his passport number his address and he did not want to look at the document.
A Scotsman confirmed to me that it was called "Jobsworth"!
So, be forewarning, in this Pub ... the waiter looks!
***Otherwise, good food and very good Portuguese wine "Alentejo"***
We had on friday a lovely drink with anti pasta around 5. IT was not to give (THE check) but worth it because of THE Quality. We came back on saturday evening around 9 in THE evening for a drink. They send us away. Not even a drink at THE bar was possible . There Where at least 4 empty tables. We have never felt us so unwelcome.
