Honestly - most efficient airport security experience in a long time. Security was a breeze (granted, it was a Wednesday morning...) and services in the airport were great. I hope to be back soon! Keep the flights to the NYC area going!!

A miserable experience. Visited Edinburgh Airport for the first time yesterday, to pick up a friend. Took a wrong turn at one of the roundabouts approaching the airport, and was forced through the "drop-off area" where the only way I could exit was by paying £1 -- there was no way to turn around prior to that, and no other route options. Basically seems to be set up to ensure that there is no way to surreptitiously drop anyone off without paying (heaven forbid). But I didn't even drop anyone off or stop... just took a wrong turn thanks to the confusing signage. Having paid for the unpleasant detour, I then circled back to the "pick up area." Having parked the car, signs from there to the arrivals part of the airport started out hopefully, but then repeatedly led to "Departures" -- after several course corrections, Arrivals was found (no thanks to any signs pointing the way). Met friend, went back to car in less than 15-20 mins... And then was charged £6.75(!!) to exit the pickup area... I get charging something reasonable for staying for 30+ mins in an airport parking lot (for drop-off, pick-up), but essentially forcing people to pay for simply driving to the airport seems deeply pathetic... Edinburgh is a great city, but this airport is beyond abysmal. A shameless money-grab.

Flew to from Southampton and back quite successfully. The waits were short and very easy to navigate. Took the train in to the city centre, turn left on exiting and keep walking, £5.50 adult single.

Missed flight as airport has two flight to London City Airport at exactly the same time. Really!? I'm not the only passenger who went to the wrong gate. Didn't know airlines had started formation flying, either that or they don't actually take-off at the same time. Wonder who the mastermind behind this is?

Pros: Security line probably the fastest in the industry. I feel a bit like a piece of kit on an assembly line, but never mind: It beats queueing in a serpentine line for an hour. Check in is pretty fast as well, which means you really don't need to arrive to the airport hours early, as with some airports. Honestly, this alone is worth all 4 stars. Cons: 1) Why is there no covered walkway from the parking garage -- especially now that a taxi cannot drop you in front of the terminal? It *is* Scotland after all. We do have weather. 2) You cannot escape the Duty Free shop -- there is literally no path to the gates that does not take you through aisles and aisles of booze, beauty and tourist rubbish. Outrageous. 3) But really the worst is the "signage" (ahem) -- see the photo. Is there any evidence here whatsoever of direction to the gates? No? Didn't think so. Unless you are desperate to do even more shopping, that is. I guess the idea is to send the hapless traveler back into Duty Free for directions. And another opportunity to buy overpriced whisky.

Shockingly bad arrivals process for an international airport. We landed and walk 150m to passport control. All good so far. Then one whole hour in the queue just to go through passport control. Complete joke.

Bad bad bad experience. Only God knows what I'm feeling inside. Bad bad bad experience. Never in my life a mascara and lipstick ia considered liquids. Really bad baD bad experience with the security.

Nice, clean and pretty modern. No major problems or issues. Plenty of food restaurants and shops to keep you happy.
