Bought a Specialized Crosstrail bike about two weeks ago. I cycled from the shop to my home in Ellon. After about 15 minutes of cycling I noticed that the back brake hardly functioned, anyway I continued on my way home. The shop provided pre-sale checklist stating that the bike was fully checked!!! I do not think so. Shocking for them to sell a bike with a defective brake. This will be the last time I buy anything from this shop.

First class service, would recommend. That's the second time the guys in the workshop have done a quick fix for me free of charge. Most other places would be trying up sell you stuff you don't need. Wouldn't use anyone else now, thanks a lot.

What a superb service from Edinburgh Bikes. Staff and particularly the head mechanic Dan Milne have done everything they could to help me to replace my broken road bike. Excellent advice and a fantastic job setting up my new bike. Much appreciated.

Great Experience the other week at Edinburgh Cycles...... took my supersix in for a check up as it was creaking like an old donkey...... fully expected to need a new BB30, but the mechanic (hairy man, I've always been rubbish with names) did a fine job, stripped down the BB and the head bearings cleaned and lubed, put it back together and sweet as a nut...... thanks for a great service........

This is now the second time that I have been to EBC in George St Aberdeen. The guys were terrific. I expected my bike to be in for a while but I received a text the same day saying it was ready. The guys explained fully what they had done, and options for future work if I wanted. Cant praise them enough.

Go to shop to buy brake pads, get front brake disabled by staff - 10/10

Disk brake pads starting to wear out, but still working. Walk in the shop with bike to buy new ones. I don't know the exact type of pad I need, so one of the staff takes the old ones out and shows me what type they are and supposedly puts them back in properly. So far so good. I buy the new pads, walk out and start cycling......front brake isn't working and barely manage to stop at a red light. The genius put the pads back in but never tightened the screw so that the pads can contact the disk - well done.

Popped in on my ride back home as derailleur developed a squeak. Asked for a shot of grease where needed and got told they would have to charge me service price. Nice one. I own 4 bikes, none of them going there.

Mate gave his bike in for a service - came back with shifter cables crossed over on the bottom tube affecting the shifting drastically.
Nice one. He has two bikes, none of them going there.

We all get good and bad days I guess but I was under impression that cycling aficionados are a bunch of cool kids loving their stuff. Oh well. Maybe not all of us.

Great selection of bikes and very helpful and friendly staff to help when choosing what type of bike is right for your requirements

Didn't even bother looking at my bike on the day it was booked in for, not even so much as a phone call to communicate this. Work got carried out the next day instead, and not done very well. Damaged my shifter, managed to stop it functioning as a two way lever and now only works one way. Put new chain on the wrong way, went back to have this addressed and the guy didn't even know what I was meaning, despite the fact it's shimano spec for the chain orientation. Shocking. Went here on recommendation and can honestly say it's been regrettable. Amateurs with no concern over customer service. Avoid.
