I used to come here as a child, and it is still interesting. It's not a huge venue, so an hour or two is sufficient for a visit. The staff are all enthusiastic, and if you go at the right time there are opportunities to feed and handle some of the animals. The butterflies are colourful and you can get up close.

My stepson loves it here. You can walk amongst butterflies see chickens and tortoise. Handle tarantula millipedes and snakes. Highly recommend.

You have to come here. Loads of wonderful butterflies flitting about, which sometimes land on you. A friendly chicken, terrapins, a big tortoise and a bug and reptile house, where you can hold the little critters if you want, including a tarantula, or you can stand back.
There are seats by a pool, where you can sit and enjoy the butterflies.~
It is very hot in there, so don't go in wearing a sweater. It is really hot!

Great place the day my partner and I went there was hundreds of various tropical and exotic butterflies and moths flying around our heads. There is also handling/feeding station which lets you get up close and personal with some wonderful creepy crawlies at various times. Great day out.

Enjoyed our trip here. Firstly I saw on another review here that you should wear light clothes and even shorts in summer as it's so hot and humid in the butterfly enclosure, I second this!
Not the biggest place but the variety of butterflies and insects makes up for it. My children are going to remember this place for a good while due to the number of butterflies that landed on them and the animals they handled during the demonstrations.
Talking of the demonstrations, ours was done by Keith who has a laid back, but confident and friendly manner. He was great with both kids and adults alike when it came to holding the animals there.

Fantastic assortment of the most colourful assortment of Butterflies. Take at least an hour, and next door you will find a very good garden centre with a great restaurant.

Amazing place to visit with small children. The butterflies are so beautiful, make sure you stay for the handling sessions. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. There's a dobbies right next door for lunch & coffee and a little park outside if the weather is good.

Lovely place to take the kids to see a great selection of butterflies, other insects and reptiles. There is a beautiful pond in the centre with lots of turtles and fish swimming about. I have been three times now and will enjoy going back again at some point.
