Lot's going on today, with the most significant part being the "building site wall" is coming down and we have a new top door!

A few pics from today along with the plant returning on 23 July: nice shiny floor now the black bin bags are off; ice tech's busy sanding the walls ready for painting; contractor levelling the screed along the newly extended walkway; plant returning.

Scottish Curling is launching a new programme called Scottish Curling Future Leaders. Olympic Medal Winner and World Champion Anna Sloan will spearhead the initiative. SC are looking for six 16-24 year olds to help shape the direction of the sport; while they support them fully on their leadership journey. Info on how to apply is at the following link: https://www.scottishcurling.org/scottish- curling-future-le…/

A huge thank you goes to Ewan Ramage of the Sweepers for putting together this time lapse for us!

Watching concrete dry is....well....about as exciting as watching paint dry! The plastic will stay down for a few weeks to maintain the correct moisture during the concrete curing process. In the meantime, what you see below is the walkways being repaired.

User

And now we wait....if you're hoping to come in to take a peek at the new cooling floor, there's not much to see at the moment while the concrete cures (photo of our current view below). But we did manage a quick pic before the lights went off.

What a day! The crews were at work yesterday from 6am until well after the sun was down pouring the cooling slab, and it looks amazing! Apologies for the low res video - we'll have a high def version for you soon. #20concretelorrieslater #thepolisherslookfun

How do we get a turn on one of these?? The polishing machines are on the move across the concrete that was poured early this morning.

User

The big day is finally here!! Looks like they're off to a good start pouring the cooling floor.

User

The ice techs have been hard at work while the floor is going down. The stones are looking very sharp.

User

Big squad in this morning - finishing touches before the concrete pour on the 17th!

User

Slowly but surely the pipes are going in! A few more things to do before the concrete pour in about 2 weeks. We'll keep you posted!

Here's Bruce in the news!

User

Congratulations Bruce 😊

A few pics from this morning's work: header pipes moving closer to position; pipes gradually going down; many pipes still to go; header trench and new enlarged walkway.

User

No, we haven't made the world's largest bin bag. But we have now properly sealed the floor insulation. Next up is laying the cooling pipes!

User

Installation of the second layer of inulation was well underway when we arrived this morning! These guys sure are early risers. Once these layers are sealed, work can begin on the job we've all been waiting for: the cooling floor itself.

The most favourite place of mine in Edinburgh

User

Really fun Try Curling session for me and my boys (12 and 14). Allowed to go at our own pace, everything well explained and absolutely loved it. Eldest is now going to join youngest at Gremlins on a Sunday morning.

User

Great place to Curl, good Bar service with varied choice of food on offer!
