plenty of shops and pubs as well as the market which is not always on .

The grassmarkets an amazing experience. It's the only place in Edinburgh during the fringe that serves it's original and historical purpose. Just think of the hundreds of years of market trader's that have been there over the centuries. I am glad there is still a thriving market there now bringing life into to the area apart from people going out drinking or on stags. I remember it was empty for years and full of drunks. Keep up the good work cya again shortly

Love going there at the weekend. Take my wee boy the street food is amazing as are the stall holders themselves. A very pleasant experience.

I love visiting here, delicious food in vibrant surroundings. I felt like I was on holiday, I loved all the choice from the various stalls. Can't recommend it highly enough !

Great market, good variety of food and crafts. Great fresh fruit and veg, bread, cheese, street food and lots more! Lovely setting in Edinburgh's historical market place, underneath the Castle. Lots of events throughout the year to, as well as being in the heart of the Festival.

Great little place with an abundance of things too buy ranging from all sorts of quirky to antique collections, you even have the option of a cold refreshment in one of the bars just behind the stalls which I thought was an excellent setup afterwards!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 GREAT PLACE, long may it CONTINUE , it's a big THUMBS UP FROM ME🤙🏻

Fantastic place. Loads of different places to eat & drink. Very clean & friendly.

Brilliant place to explore, loads of history, so many hidden little gems.

Great culture and views castle was beautiful. Only two down sides are you must be very fit to go and there are two many tarten shops I know it is Scotland but how many does one need.

Too busy and you can't move for tourists - even if it helps their coffers, it does nothing for the service to people that live here!

I wonder why the antique stallholders are using the public seating area to sell their goods on?? We pay for this area, it should be kept free for us to use. I really hope these BID sharks arent successful with their attempt to manage our Old Town. I noticed some stallholders had their goods on the new planters the council had just delivered, causing damage to our plants. What a bunch of disrespectful moneygrabbers!!!
