Edinburgh Hindu Mandir And Cultural Centre

I visit this temple every Tuesday for peace and quiet away from the weekly stress. Sitting and meditating there calms me right down and supercharges me for the week. Whether you are a dedicated Hindu or a curious visitor, this place is totally worth the visit!

The temple has Beautiful deity statues. All festivals are celebrated with tradition and devotion.

Magnificent Hindu Temple, just no wheelchair access.

A must visit plavce for Indian's who worship hindu gods. Lot of off road parking available. Every Sunday free lunch prasadam (lunger @2:00 pm)

I was surprised to know about this Hindu cultural centre in Edinburgh. Indians have their own place of worship here too! It's a great meeting place for all the Indian families permanently settled or temporarily staying in the city, especially for the elderlies of the family (you know, they find here many of their kind to chitchat and gossip :-)). I happened to be here in the very first week of my stint in Edinburgh and the day was Vijayadashami or Dusshehra. I was delighted to see so many Indian faces at one place celebrating a Hindu festival. For the newcomers it would be bit difficult to search out this place, unless you have Maps.

The cultural centre was established in 1981. The building which now houses the centre is a former church and was acquisited in 1990 for the cultural centre.

A must visit for every Indian who is in the city.
