On Saturday 15th September we will be hosting the Scottish Youth Climbing Championships 2018, the Scottish Speed Climbing Championships and the Scottish Para Climbing Championships.
In preparation for these events there is going to be major disruption in the arena as walls will be getting stripped from Monday 10th September.
The Competition Walls will be stripped on 10th September and will remain out of action until Sunday 16th September.
... Main Wall Lines 26-31 (Auto Belay Lines) will be stripped on Monday 10th September and will reopen on Sunday 16th September.
Even though there will be a fair amount of disruption in the arena there will still be loads of lead and top rope routes available, the arena boulders and boulder room will also be available!
We wish to thank everyone in advance for their patience and support during this period!

Shauna Coxsey was training in the arena this week. This is what she had to say on Insta:
I never thought that I would enjoy speed climbing as much as I do! It’s so much fun! A massive thank you to @will_bosi for his expert speed climbing coaching and sharing his contagious enthusiasm for the sport! I’m absolutely loving learning something totally new and seeing big improvements quickly. I feel exhausted after a couple of days training speed and lead. I’m both physically and mentally fatigued. Such a good feeling!

What a great place . My daughter had cast on and has JIA and there was a young gentleman who took so much time to help her as she had no confidence would just like to thank him so much as she wants to return after she gets cast off
Went to the clip and climb yesterday with my 6 and 4 year old. They both loved it and was lovely to see my 4 year old's confidence grow over the session. The instructors were great with both kids and provided lots of encouragement. We will definitely be back soon.
We visited this evening two adults and two children for a clip and climb session. We were greeted by the lovely Brendan who I must say is a massive asset to the company, he made us feel very welcome and explained the safety brief in a fun way and engaging manner. The hour flew by with Brendan and the other staff on hand to help. We will be back for another session soon.
We loved the place. I wish we could take it home to Hungary <3
We had our son's birthday here today at clip and climb and WOW the place was amazing, the staff helping the children were kind and friendly and even helped get a child that was a bit weary to join in with lots of encouragement. A massive thanks to the party hostess, (wish I remembered her name) she made the party a success and took the stress out of organising, which meant I was able to watch my little boy and his friends participate in the clip and climb rather than hide away setting up the party room. She was very helpful with games, cutting the cake and party bags. We definitely will be back and would recommend it to all our friends.
Was here at 5pm and my youngest is 9 tomorrow and has sensory issues and struggled to hear the staff so she got very stressed I explained to one member of staff who discreetly informed the others and they all were fantastic at speaking directly to her and she had great fun thank you so much well done to the staff x
Spent a morning at the Scrambles soft play with the little guy, had a great time with lots of fun for ages ranging from newborn to 9 years old with 3 separate areas depending on age. Great fun and very reasonably priced with a great cafe and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit and we will certainly be back!
My husband and I take our son (18 months) almost every weekend to Rock Tots. It's very well kept and clean. The range of toys is really good and there is a lot of space for the kids to run about. The girls working there are helpful and friendly. It's a great place to spend some time with kids and have fun.
My fiancée, her kids and I went along for a beginners course which was led by Iain, he was really helpful and got everyone involved with the climbing and tying the knots in the ropes. He explained every detail and made it fun for the kids too.
The staff are always really helpful and are always willing to give advice even when you are climbing.
The experience was that good that we have now bought our own climbing equipment and are now full members of the Edinburgh Climbing Centre.
My daughter went to clip and climb for the first time. I have to say that every member of staff and instructors were friendly and professional making us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in organising and helping out at my sons 7th birthday party at clip & climb this morning. He and all his friends had a wonderful time climbing, and also had great fun afterwards in the party room. Whole experience was absolutely faultless and I will be recommending you to all our family and friends for future parties. Thanks so much again xxx
Had another great session at Ratho this week!
The comp wall is so friggin exciting and getting to train on a dedicated comp-style speed wall is the best. So glad Ratho has it
Great place. Great for kids, Friendly staff. Loads of routes. Tiso's on site, cafe with good healthy grub. Disabled access. Clean and tidy all the time. So lucky I stay just down the road.
The only down side is it's a bit cold in the winter but, hey, so are the mountains so remember and wear warm clothes.
Great Value for money, staff were extremely helpful and attentive will definitely be returning!
First time visit today. Visited with 6 children aged 2 to 13 and they all had a great time. The older 5 did clip & climb and the youngest went to the soft play. Staff at reception were helpful. Cafe was reasonably priced. Instructors at the clip & climb were brilliant, encouraging all the kids. We will definately be back
First time climber and was a little nervous to begin with but my coach on my taster session was amazing and excellent at motivating me. Before long I was climbing straight to the top and loving every second of it. Can't believe I waited until I was 35 to try this. My children had a go on the kids course also which was a huge hit with them. Good value for money and should be on everyone's bucket list!
Fantastic facility. Took along a team of junior ice hockey players for a team building day and they absolutely loved it. Brought them all together, taught them to work as a team and to put their trust in one another. It was also great to put the message across that no matter what we do in life on how important it is to listen to instruction.

Edinburgh is so lucky to have this world class facility. The range of facilities and the different climbing routes are superb.
Daughter loved it. Thank you for your help. We are coming back and have been back a few times. Always a good time and staff are great
