Edinburgh Napier Jiu Jitsu Club Description
The main objective of our club is to have fun while learning something new and interesting.
Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art that focuses on teaching its students how to defend themselves in real life situations. The Jitsu club based in Edinburgh has been running for over 10 years and has produced new instructors and national competition finalists and winners.
Sessions will gently introduce you to simple self-defence techniques such as avoiding a punch, or dissuading an attacker who may try to grab you. As you progress you will learn more advanced techniques such as throws and weapon defences, progressing at a pace you are comfortable with until you are confident at dealing with more serious attacks such as knives and bottles.
Off the mat there is a thriving social side to Jitsu, and going to the pub after a session is long standing tradition where you can unwind, relax and share a pint with friends. Throughout the year there are many Jitsu events and excursions such as national competitions, training events and even paintballing.
Beginners are welcome at any time of the year and the first session is free! So come down and watch or give it a go

Guys if ANYONE is free at 3pm the Scottish nationals really needs your help to carry some mats across to the pleasance ready for tomorrow! The more people they have the quicker it will go so they need as many people as possible, even if it's just for 10 minutes (hopefully it won't take too long). Please let them know if you can make it, they'll be at st Leonard's at 3.

As the last session of the year sensei decided to do something different. Turns out sometimes "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight" does not always apply!

And yesterday was a wrap for us! It has been a great year and we will be back with more amazing jitsu in September.

IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR THE HIGHLIGHT JITSU SOCIAL EVENT!!! You guys know the drill, bring a white sheet to cover yourself with (worst case scenario bring your bed cover), grab some safety pins to maintain the structural integrity of the toga and finally bring a copious amount of booze. Big thanks to Thea for hosting the party at her place. If you don't know where Thea's place is then message one of the admins for it. See you all there :)
Some fun training with swords the other day so we are prepared in case we ever end up in a sword fight 👌🏻⚔️
If you want to let of some steam, remember we still have TWO Napier sessions left (last day 12th of April) before we take a break for the summer! The Edinburgh uni sessions are also running (check group for more details)

Movie Night Part Deux!!!
So we got another Movie Night in store for you guys :) . Same place as usual in the cinema room in Fountainbridge iQ accomodation this Saturday at 8pm. Let us know if you got any movie in particular you want to see (John Wick 2 was a suggestion). The raid has been officially banned from all subsequent movie nights.
