Edinburgh Turnhouse Description
A gradually growing site containing images from my personal collection of 'airside' and other photographs of former RAF Aerodrome, home of 603 Squadron, later BAA Edinburgh. In July 1960 Turnhouse became a joint RAF /Civil Aviation Authority Airport with the first International flight, Aer Lingus' DC-3 EI-ACE, 50 years ago on April 22. Taken over by BAA in 1971 it was promoted as Edinburgh Airport but it is still referred by many as Turnhouse.
