Educated Flea Restaurant

Flea is closed today and tomorrow lunch. The kitchen team are busy preparing new delightful summery dishes. We re open at 5pm Tuesday 26th. We’r sad to say goodbye to our Little Bird gin and pink... but... hello to Escubac and burnt orange.

We borrowed the snow shovel from our lovely neighbours @vinobroughton. It’s nice and cosy in here. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner. I can smell the waffles....👩‍🍳

Oh yes.. first week of our new lunch menu. A favourite already...basturma spiced minute steak!!

Bringing bread samples to the ladies who can’t stop eating bread.. our favourite for sure is the Rye!

food is a bit quirky but great; certainly full of flavour.

Have been wanting to try the Flea for ages and got lucky today.

Absolutely lovely and fantastic value for money.

Excited about getting back soon.

Where do I start.



I called up on the off chance at lunch and the lady on the phone was brilliant and saved us a seat. I could hear people laughing and chatting in the background. ( good start)



We were greeted but a lovely young lady who made us very welcome and took our coats.



Water was brought over immediately with a menu. Although I had already decided that morning after reading the menu. I had the home smoked Caesar to start and my girlfriend had the veggie Kofte. Both were amazing. So light but packed with flavour. (We also recommend the shredded fries)



Mains didnt disappoint. I had the Beef Rib with polenta and I URGE, URGE you to add this as a must if you are in Edinburgh. In fact even if you are not. Come here to try it anyway. My partner again had the Veggie option which was packed with amazing delicate flavours.



We had a lovely wine with the meal.



As we had finished the lady came over and sat with us. Gave some amazing advice on good cocktail places and other handy hints.



This place is amazing. Do yourself a favour and get there soon.

What a fantastic lunch we had here yesterday. All of our food was lovely, such attention to presentation and all.the different flavours married together were delicious. The two waiting staff were lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back.

We popped in here for lunch the other day after a quick Google for gluten free restaurants near where we were. The food was FAB (I could even eat chips�), the staff were really friendly & the atmosphere was relaxed. It made my day - which happened to be my birthday day. Thanks Educated Flea. I will definitely be back!

The place is really beautiful and you have plenty to choose from. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was more than perfect with a very friendly waiter. I can highly recommend that you go and give this place a try.

My fiancé and I visited today and we were totally unprepared for such culinary delights.

2 courses for £12.

I had koftas, he pork, then I had mullet and he had beef.

Oh my! They were perfect in taste, texture, size and presentation.

The value for money is out of this world.

I'm rarely this impressed, we will be making regular visits and bring friends.

They are so conscious of dietary requirements.

The staff are happy at their work.

I cannot recommend this wee place highly enough!

I've often looked at this place then kept walking, what a mistake. One of the best meals I've had for a long time. I had the terrine to start and then the curry chicken kiev, the flavours were stunning. Ruben who served us was a lovely young man, he even gave my Son tips on stopping smoking. I'll definitely be back soon as everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing, great value for money too.

Good variety on the menu, lovely fresh home cooked food. Service was efficient and staff very friendly and attentive. A massive choice of ice cream flavours for dessert! Small busy restaurant, booking us a must. I would certainly recommend and will go back.

A unique dining experience with warm and friendly service in a contemporary yet cosy space. We enjoyed our evening meal so much we went back for brunch. A beeline (or should that be flealine?) will be made to this gorgeous little restaurant on my next visit to Edinburgh.

8 of us girls had dinner here last night and not only the food was absolutely amazing (and such good value) but the service and atmosphere was well worth the visit. Cant wait to return and try more from the menu.
