We were squeezed in as it was busy and we hadn't booked. My gluten free Goats cheese starter was amazing. For the main course we had a problems with the sauces for the steak and chicken. So the 4 adults ended up having the meals separately, 2 eating together each time, which was disappointing. The gf lemon tart was delicious. But I have given 5 stars because mistakes happen. The food, apart from the sauce problem, was wonderful and the service especially from Nicola was brilliant - efficient, understanding and compassionate. Mistakes happen, it's how they are resolved that counts. Nicola ensured the manager was informed of the problems and rectified them. So we left happy and would definitely return.

We have eaten there quite a few times now . Last night was for my birthday. ( we had registered on line last year for this ) three of us ate a three course meal and the Birthday person gets a free meal . Free starter ,main and dessert providing someone else in your party has a starter, main and dessert. Really good food well cooked and served in a timely manner by professional friendly staff . We will be eating there again ...

Last night my family and I enjoyed a meal at your restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday.The food was absolutely first class, delicious. Most of all the staff who served us during the evening made the occasion very special indeed, they even sang happy birthday to my wife! Hence I would like to say thank you to all of Ego Lichfield staff for creating a really memorable occasion for us all, we would have no hesitation in recommending you and we will be back soon!

I am ALWAYS utterly overwhelmed with the service at Ego Lichfield. It is just amazing, everyone bends over backwards to make each occasion or meal perfect in every way. We never have to wait for our food and it's just delicious. Never ever any complaints from us!! I adore the blonde manager too!!! She is amazeballs xx

Fantastic date night!! So myself and my husband decided to book in at Ego Lichfield and I can definitely say we were not disappointed! On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of the team who checked our booking and swiftly showed us to our table.

We were offered the drinks menu and a jug of fresh water was brought to the table, along with our chosen beverages. After perusing the menu, we had some questions and the waitress, who was clearly very knowledgeable on all the dishes answered them with ease and took our order.

A short time later our starters of Gambas Al pil pil and Salmon and dill fish cakes arrived. I am so glad I opted for something new that I hadn’t tried before instead of sticking to what I know. Both dishes were delicious (we tend to share, so we get to try each other’s) and were presented beautifully. Plates taken we asked the waitress for more drinks and these were brought in swift time.

For the main we ordered the lamb rump but asked if we could have this served with chips instead of the listed dauphinoise potatoes, this was not an issue and the lamb was cooked to the ‘pink’ perfection that I had ordered. The other half had the Ribeye again cooked as ordered and with the addition of garlic butter was out of this world (again we had a nibble of each other’s �)

We opted for a couple of cocktails at the bar instead of a dessert and I can say those guys behind that bar know there stuff...��

All I can say is that we had a fantastic night, great food, great staff, great atmosphere and value for money...we will definitely be back!!

Special thanks to the guy who ran after the ambulance. Lily is absolutely fine - it was panic that affected her breathing not anything she had eaten. Came here tonight for a belated birthday meal for my partners 30th with 2 family members and couldn’t be more impressed. Starters were amazing and mains were cooked to perfection. My steak was one of the best I’ve had if not the best. Can’t remember the waitress name but she did a great job and is a asset to your team. Will be returning very soon

Been here today for my friends birthday, didn’t think to book as we’d been a few times before and never booked but we forgot about Mother’s Day! �

Greeted by kayleigh who was lovely,who told us she was fully booked but after finding out it was my friends birthday she made room for us, yeah we had to sit on a table for two when there was 3 of us but there was plenty of room! 1st class service and food was amazing as always definitely recommend,so if ur in Lichfield and want somewhere to eat this is most definitely the place to go!

Service was good until the sweet course which took about 15 minutes to arrive, then I had to go and stand by the till to get them to let me pay. On this particular day they were very busy at lunchtime and seemed understaffed.

Food as usual was good although portions are small. I think they had discovered a forest of rocket as the starter and main courses arrived with a veritable mountain of it.

As usual the place echoed with voices and music although I have heard it much louder. There are no soft furnishings to absorb the sound.

The view over Minster pool is amazing.

Service is poor and the foods nothing special.. run by people who are more concerned about image than service or value for money. . if you like to wait 30 minutes between your courses then this is the place for you.

Hadn't been for a couple of years and we left not wanting to rush back. We do like fine food and the prices charged indicated it should be. Unfortunately neither of us felt that when we left. Food OK, but alot was preprepped and not freshly made we felt. We struggled to find the Mediterranean influence on the choice of desserts, which let it down considerably. The salted caramel tart was let down as I failed to taste the salt and the icecream was poor quality. Can you not source local produce and suppliers for part of your menu?

It was a birthday treat for me and would have been shocked to pay the full amount as detailed on the receipt.

We ordered 2 for 1 Belinis which were average, and a jug of water which didn't arrive. The waitress told us there would be approx 25 mins wait on the food. 45 mins later our food arrived. We both ordered chicken skewers which were nice, however we both thought were overpriced.



Overall, an okay experience, but a bit underwhelming considering the high expectations.

Pre-booked a meal for 10 people easter Sunday evening. We were told it wouldn’t be busy, but it was. We had a 2 hour wait on our food, no-one kept us informed on the wait and when our food eventually came it was wrong, tasteless, dry or cold (and again after they had ‘sorted’ it). We did have some deductions made to our final bill, but with a £20+ service charge (for poor service) it didn’t actually make that much difference

Been to this restaurant a number of times as food has always been consistent and service has been good. Unfortunately today was not the best - went in at 12:00 and were first in the restaurant. One adult and two children - had to return 3 dishes! Soup was cold, Children’s chicken dippers were so burnt and dry I could not get a knife through them and one of the “warm” chocolate brownies was stone cold and solid! The staff were apologetic and polite, food was replaced. When two kids tell you “it’s not the best lunch we’ve had” it says a lot. A shame as the chef was clearly having a bad day.

Worst meal I’ve had in a restaurant for a long time, had our starters had to ask about my nieces pizza that was supposed to come with the starters got told the pizzas take longer to cook. Then had to wait forever for our mains people that had sat after us had got their starters and then the mains before we did, spoke to the waitress and got told that steaks take longer to get them right complete bs I work in a restaurant and know that isn’t true if you have a well done steak that will take longer but not medium rare well actually my steak was still mooing, and the peppercorn sauce tasted like bleach, I won’t be returning here

Table booked for 7 so far so good, drinks ordered starters order doing well so far, also taken our mains order at the same time, starters arrived all still ok, 7:45 not that busy a couple of parties and some couples, started finished and taken away . I have been before with no problems and food great but this event as defiantly put me off.

Asked if we could move seat because we were sat in the way of other diners and were offered a table in the way of the front door, however 3 suitable tables were empty for significant time. We were informed a delay in mains so ordered bread and oil however when this arrived the bread was stale. When our mains came my partners meal (as was the diners next to us) was stone cold, we asked waitress to rectify, however same meal returned, clearly microwaved. When asked to speak to manager he was too busy dealing with another complaint, on leaving there were others outside complaining. Disgraceful service, terrible food, will inform others about this disgusting restaurant.

I’ve had a better meals at Whetherspoons! Service is good, staff are all friendly but food very poor & over priced!! Sent my steak back as it was RAW ended up with someone else’s meal... �� Then lied to that it was a fresh meal..
