Welcome to El Tajin, we are a family run restaurant that prides itself in bringing authentic traditional Mexican flavours to Scotland. El Tajin, which originally began as a pop-up restaurant last year, is dedicated to promote the diversity and complexity of the Mexican cuisine.
Led by its co-founder, Martha Doyle, El Tajin will take you on a savoury tour of delicious regional recipes from all over Mexico and will invite you to try their unique collection of Mexican wines, Tequila and Mezcal.
At El Tajin you will find a diverse offering of artisanal dishes made with the upmost care and passion as we strive to provide you with high quality locally sourced produce and ingredients imported from Mexico.

After my visit to Myreside Farms Produce to pick their asparagus, I’ve been working on this new dish; Asparagus Mole with Heritage Tomatoes and Swiss Chard. It definitely passes my taste test. The fresh asparagus will drive you to another dimension. This dish could turn me vegan! Available as a special throughout asparagus season.

Marienne and I were up very early today to visit our friends at Myreside Farms Produce to see their asparagus harvest in action, it just started yesterday. So excited to help cut their spears and cannot wait to get back to my restaurant to start cooking! #FD2020 #lovewhereyoulive
CELEBRATE OUR SECOND ANNIVERSARY!
Its been two years since we signed the contract with my love affair, El Tajin. Many sweet, savoury and bitter moments plus lots of happy memories too!
Many students and people that worked with us left to continue with their studies or to jump onto the next step of the ladder for a better job and some others just pass through without leaving a mark.
... So many healthy laughs with our customers, lots of learning and engagement with the community, lots of positive feedbacks only a few not so good. We defeated the myths of Mexican food with authenticity.
To celebrate our second anniversary on 15th June we are having tantalizing tasting menu highlighting our most popular dishes (limited availability).
In this picture we didn't know how to show our excitement so the young member of the family show us how to do a dab but the photographer done it in the wrong direction!🙈🤣

We’ve launched our new menu! Pan fried scallops with pico de gallo, goat empanadas, slow cooked brisket with chilli ancho sauce, fresh cactus stew with Mexican squash and much more!
