My wife has just bought an Orbea Comfort 10 from ECC. Richard and Neil could not have been more helpful. They were relaxed and knowledgeable and have an extensive range of bikes. They even allowed us to take them out on trial in the rain, a bit different from some more precious outfits in town !! Despite being a committed road biker i can see e-bikes are the future. I think Richard and Neil have a bet on how it will take me to succumb. We will at least have to do some benchmark rides first. The Orbea Comfort 10 has front suspension, seat suspension, XT components, mega cassette at 11-46t, 11 speed, and 500Wh battery.

We are delighted with our Bergamont e-bikes from the Electric Cycle Company. Neill and Richard could not have been more helpful when my husband and I were looking for bikes to take when touring in our motorhome. In particular they went to a great deal,of trouble to modify my suspension seat post. Must also say how amazing their mechanic is.

This is my first electric mountain bike. Neil and his staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly in finding me the correct bike, from a vast choice. I chose a Scott E-Aspect 720 hardtail with the Bosch Performance Line mid drive motor.

Being of a certain age and not as fit as I was, the electric assist makes me feel like a kid again - and I can now go riding with my fitter mates too. My health is already improving and it has certainly helped my knee after an op, as I can choose what level of assistance I need and build up to less assistance as I get fitter. I haven't had so much fun on two wheels in years. John R.

I bought a Scott E Sub Evo for commuting to work, have tried it on some steep hills and it handled them with no bother. Neill in the shop was most helpful and knowledgeable, even allowed me to take home two E bikes to test before purchasing mine.Recommend the Edinburgh Cycle Company if you are wanting to purchase an E bike.

I bought my Momentum Model T electric bike from Neill at the Edinburgh Cycle Company back in June, and I just want to say I absolutely love it! I am a young and relatively fit woman and I enjoy cycling, but I have to admit that the hills in Edinburgh had put me off cycling on a regular basis. I found that you either had to always wear proper cycling gear or be prepared to turn up to places all sweaty and dishevelled-looking. My electric bike has been a revolution to me: I can cycle around Edinburgh with ease and it is really fun. I actually create tasks for myself to give me an excuse to go and do them on my bike. I would recommend an electric bike to anyone who would like to do more cycling but is put-off by the hills. I tried a few different electric bikes at Neill's shop and I chose the Model T because it is simple and effective. It changes gears automatically and just feels fun to ride. On Edinburgh City roads I find the battery does about 30 miles on one charge, which is more than enough really. The bike is well-made and comes with a 5-year warranty on the frame and a 2-year warranty on non-wearing parts (including the battery). The bike comes with front and rear lights that are powered by the battery. My front light was faulty and Neill replaced it no problem (he said he had not come across this fault before). With the low step-through frame and the chain guard you don't really need to worry about what you are wearing when you are cycling. The only downside is that the bike is quite heavy (23kg) but I think this is usual for electric bikes and not really an issue unless you have to carry the bike up stairs. I would totally recommend buying your bike from Neill because he is friendly, gives good advice and knows his electric bikes!
