About Elgin High School, Moray

Elgin High School is a non-denominational six year secondary school serving the communities of Elgin South and the surrounding rural areas.

Elgin High School, Moray Description

FACEBOOK RULES FOR ELGIN HS:

Elgin High’s Facebook page and Twitter accounts are designed to celebrate and share the many wonderful things the vast majority of our pupils do and we hope that you enjoy their stories.

Please be assured we will also continue to support our local community fully, when we can, by posting information on jobs, College events, and other positive or helpful news.

We are a "United Nations Rights Respecting School". The key point of that is: we expect everyone in our school to be respectful towards each other at all times. That includes on our social media sites. ”

Pupils know the procedures to follow in school if they have a complaint. For anyone else, Moray Council has its own set complaints procedures which we follow in relation to other complaints and can be found on The Moray Council website.

Our Facebook page is not the place to state complaints or be rude or write silly or negative comments, or comments that go against our school policies. Any inappropriate comments will be deleted and in more serious cases will be banned from the page.

SOCIAL NETWORK PHOTOGRAPH PERMISSIONS:

Now that we are a multi ‘Social-Media’ school there will be times when photos and good news stories of pupils will be shared in the form of a ‘tweet’ via Twitter or uploaded to a post via Facebook.

Should you expressly wish for your child not to be included on these social media sites then please contact the school office as soon as possible, otherwise we will assume that the permissions given on the pupil “Consent for Photographs & Fieldwork” update sheets from last summer will stand and also cover the use of photographs within social media sites.

Please be assured that we will be monitoring these sites regularly and that the school will be adhering to The Moray Council use of social media policy.

We thank you all for your continued support of the school and the community it serves.

Dear Parent/Carers, In order to drive forward school improvement, Elgin High School intend to issue a questionnaire to all Parents/Carers at the S2 Parent/Carer evening on Tuesday 4th December 2018. The questionnaire will also be distributed at all subsequent Parents/Carer evenings this academic year. We are eager for as many parents/carers as possible to contribute their thoughts concerning the school. For those unable to attend parents' evening, these questionnaires can be completed online (a link to the survey monkey questionnaire will be available soon). Thank you in anticipation of your support. Elgin High School - Self-Evaluation Team.
