About Eljam

The ELjam Facebook page has been created to let young people in East Lothian know about music related opportunities and events happening in their area.

Eljam Description

The East Lothian Youth Music Forum was established in 2007, and meets approximately 3 times a year, with the aim of bringing together partners to develop a strategic approach to youth music provision across the county. Joining ELjam is free. It is for practitioners, tutors, educators, group leaders and those working in the music industry.

ELjam has representatives from the formal and informal music sectors, from local authority services areas ( e. g. Arts, Education, Community Learning and Development) and external music providers ( e. g. The Bridge Centre Music Project, Bridges Project, Uprising).

There are currently a wide range of high quality music activities for young people in East Lothian and ELjam is building upon this excellent work, while supporting further key developments.

ELjam received substantial funding from Creative Scotland and East Lothian Council in 2010 to establish a Strategic Music Partnership, which has further increased it's capacity to make profound and lasting improvemnts to the youth music landscape.
