Elphinstone Fiddlers Description
The Elphinstone Fiddlers is a vibrant and innovative traditional music group based in Aberdeen, Scotland. We feature a varied combination of instruments and perform an eclectic range of music, from Scottish, Irish, and Scandinavian folk tunes to arrangements of recent chart-toppers! Recent tours have taken us to Orkney, the Hebrides, and Northern Ireland, and we've collaborated in projects with Douglas Montgomery, Eddie McGuire, and the Ballymoney Male Voice Choir.
Significantly, we're a non-auditioning ensemble within the Music Department of Aberdeen University, and we welcome anyone who wants to join us! (The ability to read music would be an advantage, but is not a barrier to participation).
We typically perform in concerts at the end of each term, with rehearsals taking place 4-5. 30 every Wednesday during term-time in Johnston Hall, King's College Campus. Please feel free to come along if you're interested, or contact us here if you have any queries.
