Thanks to Melanie Clarkson from Harrysmuir School in West Lothian for sharing a fab set of practical ideas for introducing the orange cog at our Primary Training today. It was great to get the ideas flowing for how we might introduce the other cogs across the school. 👏🏼⚙️🧡💛❤️💚💙

Body sensation awareness, adaptive affect regulation, the buffering effect of the supportive relationship, creative approaches to supporting children and young people affected by trauma... we’re definitely in the right place for the next few days ☀️⚙️😎👍🏼

Our team building and forward planning morning last week saw discussions around marketing our social business message, practitioner community networking, satellite classrooms/local hubs, website improvements and our trainer accreditation process. Everything is focused around building capacity within our organisation and supporting the Emotion Works movement within Scottish Education. Awesome commitment and a real sense of pride in where we’ve been and where we’re going. ⚙️🤜🏼🤛🏼⚙️

This ACEs conference is running at Edinburgh's International Conference Center on Saturday 23rd June. Darren McGarvey (Poverty Safari) is the Keynote speaker, and Emotion Works will be running an extended workshop delivering our ACEs specific training session! Other workshops from Upstart Scotland, Barnardo's Scotland, Craigmillar Books for Babies, Wave Trust, Jennifer Knussen and more.

It was our last preview event of the session this afternoon hosted by Cadder Primary in Glasgow. Great turn out - especially for such a sunny day near the end of term. Cadder staff were brilliant telling us all about their work across the different classes to date. Thanks so much for having us and for the amazing cakes and biscuits 🍰 🍪
