Workout of the Week - Barbell Workout If you've not performed any of the exercises please ask a PT who will be happy to help show you correct usage, form and weight for your safety and progress.
Warm up for at least 10 minutes prior to using weights by exercising on our cardiovascular machines, followed by stretching of your muscles. Allow approximately 1 minute between exercise sets. Keep hydrated throughout, and repair & feed those muscles as soon as you can after worki...ng out, with Protein!
1. Barbell bicep curls 12 reps for 3 sets 2. Barbell shoulder shrugs 10 reps for 3 sets 3. Barbell tricep press 10 reps for 3 sets 4. Barbell Squats 15 reps for 3 sets 5. Stiff-Legged Barbell Deadlift 10 reps for 3 sets 6. Barbell Lunges 12 reps each leg for 3 sets (you can do one leg at a time or can alternate) 7. Standing Barbell Calf Raises 12 reps for 3 set

Our 10 year old is currently attending the rookie lifeguard classes on a Saturday afternoon and is thoroughly enjoying every lesson. Danielle the class teacher is calm, patient and very attentive towards the children. Would highly recommend.

Lovely well equipped gym which is perfectly located near the Gyle. Nice pool and really friendly and accommodating staff team.

Just want to say that this gym is one of the best I have been to. The staff make you feel welcome always, and if you need any help or advice there always there to help. �

Been to loads of gyms in Edinburgh but Energize is the first gym I've actually enjoyed coming to and I've seen amazing results through my training - this is down to the friendliness and expertise of the staff & the wide variety of equipment and classes they offer!

Been a member since the gym reopened a few years back as Energie and now as Energize and I have to admit that I've rarely seen a team so dedicated to their members. Great equipment, great swimming pool and very helpful and friendly staff.

Definitely recommend the place. Thanks for your great work

Aqua fit on a Monday and Friday. Brilliant class, hard work but lots of fun. Mark the coach is fab and funny. Thoroughly recommend it for anyone of any age, shape or size.

Absolutely loving this gym. Never massively busy so no competing for machines and the staff are top notch. Trainer Chris in particular is both kind hearted, and great at motivating me to do what I need to do. Brilliant club

Thanks Energize for putting on 3 brilliant aqua classes in the evenings. Mark Buchan and Lynne Stewart are great teachers and having classes Mon, Wed and Fri is making a big difference to my fitness levels. All classes are fun and super friendly. Would be 5 stars if the shower controls worked better!

Was a member of this gym for 7 months and happily paid the £35 membership each month as it was handy for my office. Until I was moved office and asked to terminate my contract, transfer it to another gym or if that wasn't possible change the date my direct debit came out until I could cancel my membership.



I was ignored when I emailed to sort it out then when I called up I was given different information by several staff members. This ranged from being able to terminate my membership early, move my membership to a gym in Glasgow and finally to be told none of this was possible. After two heated phone calls I was eventually able to give my notice to cancel and change the date of my direct debit.





If you are thinking about joining this gym please be warned the gym equipment is ancient and lot's of it is broken. The staff at reception could barely crack a smile when you swipe in and the PT instructors were only Interested in helping you if you were a busty blonde or a steroid addict. One of them also has a severe body odour problem which fills the tiny gym.



The changing rooms are filthy, have mould on the ceiling, carpets smell of wet dog and most of the showers and lockers are broken! Join pure gym or even pay extra and join Virgin active!



DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!

Please avoid this gym at all cost. There customer service is shocking, the manager is one of the most unprofessional people I've ever meet.

I went to this club for a one morning to try it so glad I didn't join the receptionist looked down her nose at me and was so rude the place was dirty smelled and this looked shabby and rusty in some areas I asked to be taken off their mailing list with immediate effect but low and behold still get texts from them please stop
