About Equi-Power Central Scotland Rda

EQUI-POWER Central Scotland RDA was set up to re-establish horse related therapy and services for disabled adults and children following the forced closure of the Bannockburn group in 2014. The organisation was constituted in April 2015, as a member group of RDA UK and sports club affiliated with Horsescotland, and became a SCIO registered with the Scottish Charities Regulator in August 2015. There are two main aims of the organisation: -* To establish a new purpose built centre in the Stirling area, Equi-Power At Kildean, to provide horse related activities and therapy for a wide range of users including disabled adults and children. * To work in collaboration with other organisations to provide interim services for adults and children with additional support needs in a way that builds capacity of horse and volunteer power in preparation for the launch of the new centre. The board is led by David James who has extensive experience of land-based education. Another 6 board members bring valued specialist knowledge ensure governance and more information is provided on the website. All coaches are self-employed and accredited by both the British Horse Society and Riding for the Disabled Association. The group provides services for adults and children with additional support needs, attending individually, in groups or from schools. We currently have a short waiting list as we work hard to expand our service. Our work could not take place without the valuable support of our dedicated volunteers.
