Welcome to Essentially EMMETT. I am Fiona, a fully qualified and insured, EMMETT Practitioner for People, Horses, and Dogs based in the North East of Scotland. EMMETT involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points, referred to as "Emmett points" to release tension in muscles. Bespoke sessions are available by appointment at the Urban Wellness Hub (Bridge of Don, Aberdeen) for people & animals. Stable visits for Horses, and outdoor home garden visits for Dogs will also be available starting w /c 26th April 2021. My background is in Psychology and Counselling, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. Studying various bodywork modalities over the last 18 years (e. g. Bowen Therapy, EMMETT Technique, Myofascial Release, Functional Yoga Teacher Training). Continuous professional development is important to me, so you will likely find me learning on training courses to stay current to positively support clients. I am passionate about supporting people to feel relaxed, confident, and empowered, and I share this same focus in the animal world which I have always known and loved. Every person's body is different, the same applies to our animal companions. One size does not fit all. So the first session will include consultation, along with approval from your Veterinary Professional before supporting you and your animal to receive the best tailored session(s). When working with animals, the sessions are led by them to promote freedom and choice, to encourage building trust and confidence. EMMETT can be used pro-actively to support relaxation, or reactively to support balancing physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
