About European Society (University Of St. Andrews)

The University of St. Andrews' European Society brings you the best political talks and debates as well as cultural events to give you the best experience Europe has to offer.

European Society (University Of St. Andrews) Description

We explore the politics and culture of Europe and its nations. Our political events include addresses from MPs and MEPs, ambassadors, government advisors and experts from various think tanks. This year we will again be holding our successful 'Question Time' panel debate, which allows you to put your questions to leading politicians, journalists and businessmen. We also offer EU careers events with lots of information from EU employees on job and internship opportunities.

Also on our agenda are the always popular cultural evenings, including the Oktoberfest, St. Andrews Day Celebrations, the European Beer Night as well as pub quizzes and casual socials - a great way to make new friends!

Another highlight are our visits to European cities: Recent trips have been to Stockholm and a completely free visit to Brussels!

Hi all, I am wondering if anyone would like to carry on the European Society? If so then please message and I will discuss handing on the facebook page and suggesting how you can restart the society.

Dear all, Much to my regret it appears we do not have enough momentum to be affiliated on time. Much thanks to all members which have supported us over the past years!! I do hope the society can affiliate sometime in the future, but we will likely need to get ourselves setup properly in the Freshers Fayre and Guide next year in order to get enough members. It's unfortunate that our president resigned without any hand-over...but that is just life in this case.
If you would be ...interested in joining the society comittee as we reform, please message Scott Cartwright who will get you involved in the discussion! Anyone with ideas and enthusiasm is VERY welcome, as we need more people to get started again :)
All my best to you in the year ahead,
Scott Cartwright (Treasurer: Acting President)

Hey everyone! Thanks for coming to our pub quiz yesterday. We hope you enjoyed it! Again, we are very sorry that we had to turn down a few people - the place was just too crammed. If you want to learn more about our society and our events just come to our stall at the Fresher's Fayre on Sunday! We will sell memberships at a discount price of 4 Pounds, which gives you free access to our speaker events and reduced prices on other events as well as discounts at Aikman's.
We wil...l also sell tickets for the European Beer Night - a beer tasting which is going to take place on Thursday, 20 Sept., 8pm at Aikman's!! As there is only a limited number of tickets available, make sure you get your ticket early (either at the Fayre or reserve via eurosocmail@st-andrews.ac.uk - of course we will also sell tickets at the door)!
We hope to see you soon again! - Your EuroSoc Committee -
