Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Edinburgh

Horrible unacceptable experience today at Sighthill branch in Edinburgh. I reserved a car on Sunday with the pick up date today. This morning the sale assistant called me to confirm what time I was planning to come in. She also requested me to send scans of some paperwork which apparently had to be amended. I arrived to the branch after getting a 'green' light from this sale assistant only to find out that they FORGOT to do MOT!!!! But I was lucky as it would only take 45 min. So I waited. In the meantime we signed off all the documents. I traded in my old car. After 1.5 hrs my new car finally was back from MOT. We were just supposed to look at it and leave but it turned out the scratches which were supposed to be fixed were not done. I refused to collect this car without repair. After almost 2 hrs in the branch I am left with no car. The old car belongs now to the branch as has been traded in and the new is not ready for collection. Why on Earth they called me this morning to confirm the pick up time if they did not bother do get it ready for me. Oh yes, they offer me a courtesy car 'trying to help me'. This makes me raging - I don't need your help!!! You need help in running this place as it is a complete mess!!! You are sorting out the mess your employees did not helping me!!! You are sorting out your total incompetence not helping me. I don't need help. I did everything what I was supposed to do. It is you who failed totally. And the courtesy car is not changing what I think about your customers service.
So I recommend - never ever go to Evans Halshaw!!!!

If I could give minus I would. Absolute dreadful service 2 weeks of chasing my car and having to hire a car as there were no loan cars available. Only when the new service manager took charge did my car get sorted in 2 days (she was brilliant). I will be writing to HQ

Woeful service. Purchased a nearly new car, riddled with faults, poor bodywork repair with missing badges, parcel shelf missing, had to battle hard to get the issues resolved. £24,500 paid and I feel cheated.

Update: Having decided to give them one last chance after they chased me for business I'm afraid to say I should have learned from earlier experiences. Poor communications very late, very expensive and charged more than quoted. I think they have just cut back on the staff to maximise profit. The staff as individuals are all fine and apologetic but there is some major problem at this place - can't meet the workload.

Shocking customer service, shame as the facilities are great as are the front desk staff. I probably wouldn't buy a Vauxhall again so I can avoid this place.

Just read the reviews here, less than 3 stars out of 5. All these customers can't be wrong, my own experience has been similar. I ordered some parts for my Vectra, was told 5 to 7 days, took 2 weeks of me chasing them up. I went in and contacted them at least 5 times. Their attitude and customer service in general is well below average. The staff certainly appear to me as if they can't be bothered. They are not a good dealership. Eventually I got my bits after I did all the legwork. They had them in and never contacted me like they said I went in on the off chance they had arrived. Never even got an explanation. It seemed like it was an inconvenience me ordering anything from them. Very poor. Shame cause now they will get no further business from me. I will source my Vauxhall parts elsewhere.

Having bought a brand new car from here in 2015 and taken out a service plan, I have regular dealings with Evan's Halshaw and the Customer Service is pretty appalling. Once I haven moved on from my current Vauxhall I won't be returning to Evans Halshaw to buy a new car nor will I be recommending anyone else to. Every time I have a dealing with this branch something isn't right or goes wrong. I've had too many moments with this dealer to list here but I dread any visit I have to make. The incompetence of some staff here is beyond belief. The only time I've had issues dealt with is when I've spoken to Head Office who have put me in touch with the Regional Manager. Avoid this company if you want decent quality customer service.

We purchased a Hona jazz from Evan Halshaw we had quite a few issues with the car however after contacting Gary Smith at this site he could not have even if he had tried done any more to rectify all the issues that we had and for that a big thank you thank you also to Leasa Butchard for all her friendly help

Used this garage for years always found them to be honest and reliable iv just had my car in for its first service and got it back washed & Hoovered First class service only problem is finding a parking place apart from that best place to take your car and now my daughter just bought a brand new car and the sale was straight forward no hidden costs was informed from start to pickup She got great discounts and £500 fuel card and no sneaky extras added in So for servicing and buying then you won't go wrong hear Also when I was in to order a part that cost £100 Because it was a factory order you need to pay upfront and I never had enough cash with me .They trusted me in letting me pay on pickup so again an all round great garage to do business

Apalling customer service. Quoted £480 for work which was completed for £185 at AutoMak on Glasgow road. MOT advisory's were also incorrect, as verified by a second opinion.
