About Exclusively Cats Veterinary Centre

Exclusively Cats, a veterinary centre dedicated to providing a high standard of treatment for cats. We like to treat every cat as if they were our own.

Exclusively Cats Veterinary Centre Description

We have a fully purpose-built surgery and our aim is to integrate "high tech" facilities with a relaxed and comfortable environment for our patients.

WHAT MAKES US A CAT-FRIENDLY PRACTICE?
All staff employed at Exclusively Cats are firm cat lovers, and we have developed and put into practice several different techniques to make the cats as relaxed as possible. We also allow generous consultation times.

OUR FACILITIES
We have a fully-equipped surgery that allows us to deal with emergencies and treat a wide variety of conditions. Our facilities include:

• X-ray
• Ultrasound
• Endoscopy
• Dental care
• Internal laboratory facilities

External laboratories are also researched for specialised tests. Our procedures are assisted by the use of pulse oximeter and blood-pressure monitors, also anaesthetic and oxygen facilities chosen specifically for cats. We have excellent facilities for intensive care, and pride ourselves on a very high standard of surgery and in-patient care.

HANDLING
At Exclusively Cats we believe that cats should never be scruffed and that there is always an alternative. Instead, we prefer to hold the cats gently, and examine them kindly. This includes using feliway and felifriend hand rubs and bean-bag positioners, and examining some of the cats in their boxes as part of the relaxed atmosphere.

ACCOMODATION
Our in-patient accomodation is designed for maximum comfort, with three medium and two large cages, all with heat pads and comfy beds.

EMERGENCIES
Consultations are normally by appointment only. However, a 24-hour emergency service is provided; please always phone before bringing your pet to the Centre (on occasion another local practice may be on call for us). We like to accomodate our patients' normal routine and will open the surgery out-of-hours for blood tests on diabetic cats.

MISSING CAT, OSCAR!
Please can you keep your eyes peeled for one of our lovely cats, Oscar. He didn’t come home last night and his owners are concerned as this isn’t like him.

MOBILITY MATTERS!
Not only is reluctance to jump and play as normal a sign of sore joints, the following can also indicate that there may be a problem:
Scruffy coat... Sleeping more than usual Irritability

Lovely boy Snoopy showed us his high-fiving skills at his appointment! Do your cats have any special talents that they'd like to share with us?
P.S. Sleeping as a talent is purrfectly acceptable (not to mention cute!)

MISSING FROM FINNICK GLEN, AYR. One of our much loved patients has been missing since Sunday 10th March which is very unlike him. He’s a 4 year old male Tonkinese. He has been microchipped and he is neutered. Please share this post so that we can get lovely Purdi home to his family, they are missing him terribly.

Thank you all for your care and concern that’s the little one safely home 😊
Earlier this evening this lovely little boy was handed in to us, no injuries just lost. He’s a black male neutered young cat around 6 months old. He was found in someone’s garden near Whitletts Road wearing a black velvet collar. He has no microchip so if anyone knows who he belongs to or where he has come from please call the surgery on 01292 618888. Many thanks, let’s get this handsome boy home.

Unfortunately this afternoon we had a young deceased female cat brought into the practice following a road traffic accident. She was found in Patna, Polnessan area. She’s a petite short haired black and white cat, no older than 5 months old. Despite scanning her for a microchip we were unable to locate one. She has been neutered recently. We would really like to find her owners and would appreciate you sharing this post in the hopes that they or someone who knows them sees it. Thank you!

We thought that you’d all appreciate this poem that we have displayed in reception as much as we do. We think it’s a story that many can relate to! ❤️

We are so happy to say that Mr Bring is now safely back home!

User

We have had a concerned owner come in to the surgery this evening to report his cat as missing. The cat is called ‘Mr Bring’ and he is a neutered male tabby with white markings (distinctively, his front left leg is white from the ‘elbow’ down). Mr Bring has been missing since Saturday evening and has only recently moved to Ayr with his owners. He is a friendly cat, although can be quite timid. Please keep your eyes peeled for him and contact us on the surgery line (01292-618 888) if you have any information on his whereabouts. We really hope that he makes it home safely soon!

Some of you have already had the pleasure of meeting her, but for those that haven’t yet, say hello to Andreia! Andreia is our new vet and she will be covering for Vivien when she is away for some much deserved time off! 😊
