Eye Candy began life as a small, side street Opticians in the East End of Glasgow in 2005 when Carol McGuire opened a shop in Marne Street.


With over 25 years experience in optics, Carol brought her unique style and personality to Eye Candy, making a great success of her first solo venture. The shop was so successful that Eye Candy had to re-locate to Alexandra Parade expanding within 2 years to cope with demand.


Five years on, with the Alexandra Parade practice running like clockwork, Carol and her partner Jonny Buckley, (a 10 year optics veteran), have opened a unique eyewear outlet with a twist in Glasgow's famous Merchant City. Situated just yards from the River Clyde, Eye Candy "The Briggait" specialises in European designer eyewear and houses an art gallery with a different exhibition from local artists each month. In addition, Eye Candy “The Briggait” sells stunning glasswear and bespoke jewellery by local designers.


Eye Candy's ethos is to offer (literally) eye-catching wonderful, funky, stylish glasses by brands you very seldom see on the High Street at surprisingly reasonable prices with personal service that is second to none.

Eye tests are carried out to the highest standard at the Alexandra Parade store by Eddie Coyle, who is a fully qualified Optometrist with 15 years experience. We accept NHS vouchers for Under 16, Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Tax Credit Exemption Certificate, Pension Credit, HC2 and HC3.
