As part of our Advanced Fèis Week, our participants worked with tutors Anna Massie + Kristan Harvey to compose two new tunes. These were debuted at our finale concert on Friday 20th June.
Here is the sheet music for their two jigs, 'Dragon Born' and the aptly titled 'Fèis Phàislig'.

What a finale! Our final day started off in Stirling at The Engine Shed for a performance at the Macrobert Arts Centre Cycle Cinema event. Our musicians even gave the pedal-powered cinema a boost with some tunes at the same time 🎶
Then after a fantastic lunch at Sapporo Teppanyaki, we headed to George Square for the fifth and final time on this tour. Opening the stage for the Celtic Connections closing party, our musicians performed a fantastic mix of tunes and got the crowd ...singing along to their finale, Let Ramensky Go. Leaving the stage to chants of ‘ONE MORE TUNE’, the audience gave our musicians a fantastic send-off on their final performance, the 30th of the last 12 days.
A huge thank you to our musicians, all the venues, organisers, Festival 2018 / Glasgow2018, Fèisean nan Gàidheal, WRC Recycling for their rehearsal space and everybody else that was involved in anyway over the last 12 days. It’s been an incredible first tour for our ceilidh trail project and we couldn’t have asked for better musicians to take on the road. We’ll be back next year with our 2019 trail so for all those eager for more tonight in George Square, we’ll see you next year 😉🎉🎵

A bumper day of performances yesterday for our penultimate day of the ceilidh trail tour. We started the day off in Balloch for their day of Festival 2018 activities. A quick journey back to Glasgow saw us involved with the Glasgow Gaelic Song Trail with Mary Ann Kennedy. Departing from Central Station, our musicians performed across three points of the tour giving life to Gaelic songs written all about the city. We finished our day at the Triathlon Closing Ceremony at Strathclyde Country Park with a short performance by the River Clyde.
Today, we finish our tour with performances in Stirling and Glasgow. Come along to see our musicians one final time at 5pm in George Square as we kick off their Celtic Connections closing party 🎉

The sun came out for us today in George Square for a lively afternoon of music. Here’s a short clip of what to expect on Sunday at the Celtic Connections closing party. We’ll be kicking things off from 5pm on the main stage before Siobhan Miller, Ross Ainslie and Jarlath Henderson, Shooglenifty Scotland and Fatoumata Diawara. It’s FREE and unticketed so head along in plenty of time to see our fantastic ceilidh trail play their last concert of this tour.
Today we also visited the Lodging House Mission, an independent charity supporting homeless and vulnerable people. A huge thank you to them for their hospitality and letting us share our music with such an appreciative audience!

Day 9/12 took us back to the east coast with performances across Craigmillar. We started the day off at Richmond Craigmillar Church and Cafe followed by an afternoon performance at The White House Kitchen. We finished our day off at Craigmillar Library - a big thanks to everybody that joined us throughout the day 🎉🙌🏻

User

Bishopbriggs played host to the Time Trial today as part of Glasgow2018 - our ceilidh trail performed in the local library which hosted events throughout the day to celebrate. We then played a local concert in Falcon Day Centre in Paisley. Day 8 of 12 complete!
4 days to go and tomorrow we’re back in Edinburgh performing across community venues in Craigmillar. 🙌🏻

User

A relatively relaxed day for our ceilidh trail today with one performance this morning to kick off the festivities in George Square. And after the MC didn’t show up, it was over to our musicians to get the crowd warmed up...
We also spent our afternoon / evening rehearsing with Mary Ann Kennedy and team for this Saturday’s ‘Gaelic Song Trail’. Our ceilidh trail will feature across the trail with songs and tunes that bring Glasgow’s Gaelic history back to life. Our ceilidh trail travelled through to the capital yesterday for a busy day of performances. Day 6 featured concerts at McDonald Road Library, Scottish Storytelling Centre, Fringe Street Events on the Royal Mile and the Thistle Foundation. Well done to our musicians for a bumper day of travel / performing!

User

Day 5 took us from a shinty event in Glasgow to the European Rowing Championships at Strathclyde Country Park. 7 days to go and the ceilidh trail are going from strength-to-strength!
Catch us around Edinburgh tomorrow 🤗🎉

User

A fantastic mix today for our ceilidh trail musicians. Day 4 started at Bannockburn House with a performance for their Summer Garden Party (and some questionable costume choices). We were then delighted to share a stage with two other Ceilidh trails from Fèis Rois and Fèis Fhoirt for a concert at the Tolbooth Stirling. A huge well done to all the musicians involved in a spectacular night of music!

The Feis Phaislig Concert 2017 was absolutely brilliant all the children were fabulous to have performed to this standard after just 4 days was stunning. Our boy had the best time on his first Feis taking part in the Film Making was a dream for him.

My son was new this year and has absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for inspiring my young guy, he can't wait for next year!

My son thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this. It was great for him to have the opportunity to try out different instruments, and to see him play the guitar on stage, which he has never played before. Thankyou very much.

My daughter Ceitidh attended the Fėis for the first time this year and loved every minute. Will definitely be back next year

User

My 8 year old daughter attended the Fèis Phaislig for the first time this year and had a great time learning guitar, chanter and singing. The tutors were all so friendly and experienced, so despite her shyness she thoroughly enjoyed herself. So much so, she has started guitar lessons to learn more! I look forward to next year!

User

Erin had a fantastic week. Wonderful tutors with great enthusiasm. The music at the ceilidh was brilliant
