The setting is beautiful! And the pitches are spread out so privacy is excellent and it's very quiet. There is also free WiFi across the camp site that works sometimes.
BUT the showers and toilets are primitive to say the least! There is ONE shower for women and one for men. Not one room, but actually one shower in one separate room. If it's busy, you have to wait outside of the building (and it rains most of the time). Inside, there is no heating, so showering in a large room with no ceiling and with doors with cracks at 12 degrees C in July... is certainly not pleasant. Water pressure is also very poor, as they have those instant electric water heaters. Hair dryer is good but is in the toilets area rather than in the shower area, so you have to go outside to get there (get dressed with your hair still wet at 12 degrees C).
Bonus: the drinking water is brown. They say it's safe to drink and tastes ok, but it's still brown. I guess that just looks weird...
And there are midges. Probably because of the little lake.
Overall, if you have a fully equipped motorhome with shower, better stay in it and enjoy the scenery, but use your own facilities.

Great campsite with good facilities in a peaceful location. The owner is a camper who knows what campers need and where to camp in Scotland. She told us where to camp on Skye and warned us how busy the island is and to book ahead.

The camping site is really cool. It is located on a small hill and the camping grounds are divided into sections so that each group can have peace and quiet. The showers and toilets were the best I have seen on our trip (clean and comfortable).
The only drawback is that if you want to reach the main house\reception you need to go uphill (but this is such a minor thing). A recommended place if you are in the area!

Very nice campsite on the hill with small nice areas. Frindly staff, facilities in very good and clean condition. Free good working Wifi.
Laundry. Everything you need. Fully recommended.

Firstly I did not stay at the camp site, I just passed through. I have lived round the corner from this place for 25 years and there is a public path from the top of the site to a public walk through an estate to Loch Lundie. I have always walked through this way. Yesterday I walked through with my cousin who was visiting and our 2 dogs who were on short leads. Somebody drove past us in a car and glared at us which we thought was a bit rude. We literally walked straight through the site commenting on how nice it looked and let our dogs off past the gate into the estate. And then the owner I assume shouted us back through the gate asking to speak to us. We came back and the dog went over to say hello, she petted him and said 'this is what I am talking about' , we were confused and then she said just make sure the dogs are on leads in the camp site. I told her that they were and then she proceeded to be very patronising advising that there are walkers going on this walk so just be careful with dogs which was strange as we are walkers ourselves. I again told her that we had just walked through and let the dogs off after and that I have always done so, I walk this way to Loch Lundie as the other route involves walking 3 miles to the village first. She then said 'you can get there from the village' which I had just said myself so I said 'I know' and then it turned into her telling us not to walk through here again really rudely and unnecessarily. Which is rubbish anyway as it is a right of way and we were nothing but respectful. Needless to say though we went back the other way as we were disappointed by her attitude, we got lost as the other path is overgrown and hard to find as everyone uses the path through the site. My cousin was going to recommend the place as it was a lovely setting to her friends who were looking for somewhere to camp this way but she will not now after the appalling attitude of the owner. I am local as well and this is a small community, I will never ever recommend this place. Such a shame.
