Fair City Munchkins Description
Welcome to Fair City Munchkins where a personβs a person no matter how small!
At Munchkins we aim to create a home from home environment while providing your child with all the resources to grow, explore and develop.
We actively encourage lots of outdoor play and believe the children will love to learn through their experiences that the natural environment can offer.
We really want the children to be happy while at Munchkins and work closely with parents to make sure the little ones feel at home during their time at nursery.
We will cater for children from zero to school age and hope to offer morning clubs and after school clubs.
The nursery is situated on one level with access to lots of outdoor space and our large kitchen will ensure your little one has a nice full tummy with our selection of food on offer.

During our trip to the supermarket one of the children wanted to buy a coconut π₯₯π
To further develop the childβs interest in the coconuts we used it for a learning experience and involved other children. The children explored the texture and smell of the coconut, before we emptied the coconut water out and explored the inside.
... Musical instruments have been created using the shells and the coconut water will be used to create coconut playdough π

Some of the children from our 0-2 and 2-3 room went out to explore the community this morning π
During this outing the children were engaged in conversations, singing songs, and asking questions which promoted their literacy skills. Providing the children with some challenge we counted how many buses we seen, developing our numeracy skills, whilst also developing their curiosity. The children also ensured they had good listening, developing their understanding what they should be doing to be safe when out ππ
The children in the 0-2 room bought a watermelon when they visited the shop π
The children promoted their curiosity, literacy, numeracy and problem solving skills during the process of creating their own watermelon ice lollies πππ
We are very excited to try the watermelon ice lollies once they are ready π
The children in the 0-2 room went on an adventure to the supermarket this morning.
During the outing the children engaged in conversations and prompted their literacy, communication and numeracy skills, whilst also developing their curiosity π
Following on from this mornings activity exploring different fruits, the children in the 0-2 room have been busy using the fruit during play experiences this afternoon π
They created print pictures using the fruit and mixed the fruit into their play dough. The children have had the opportunity to develop the curiosity, motor skills, and promote language, whilst having lots of fun ππππ
The children in the 3-5s created patterns, shapes and prints using their feet this morning π£π
The experience allowed the children to work together and take turns to create a giant piece of art using paint and footprints. There was lots of discussion throughout the experience, and of course a lot of happy and giggling children π
This morning the children in the 0-2 room had an exciting time taking part in an experience exploring different fruits ππ
Through this experience we developed and promoted our language, curiosity and fine motor skills.

The children in the 0-2 room have been exploring the movement of wheels π
The children have been developing their fine and gross motor skills by using the wheels and tyres to explore a variety of movements. Whilst taking part in the activities the children also had the opportunity to develop their numeracy and problem solving skills π

The children in the 0-2 room took advantage of lots of open space when we visited the woods this morning π²π³ Whilst exploring the children were engaging with the environment around them, using good listening skills and asking questions π
The children had another successful visit to Viewlands House Care Home this afternoon π The children are becoming very confident and relaxed in the environment and are very comfortable to initiate conversations with the residents, explore activities and share their thoughts and ideas. The children canβt wait to go back and are having discussions already about what experiences they would like to share with their new friends during their next visit π

Some of the children went for another visit to Viewlands House this afternoon π
The children made a fresh batch of play dough with mint from our nursery garden and together with the residents created shapes and animals, promoting lots of discussion and opportunities to build on relationships π
The residents enjoyed a visit from some of our younger munchkins again and they happily read stories and sang some beautiful songs together π

We love to recycle at Fair City Munchkins π
Today the children created simple watering cans from old milk cartons. These are manageable for the children to use and allow the children to have responsibilities within our gardening area, the watering cans are accessible to the children throughout the day π
Today the children in the 2-3s have been developing their fine and gross motor skills, whilst exploring the mini beast tuff tray. ππThe children had to negotiate through small spaces to reach objects and retrieve them, before putting them in the basket π
Whilst Perth Theatre was being refurbished we were lucky enough to visit the site on various occasions and be a small part of the refurbishment process π Today the children in the 3-5s revisited the theatre to see the now completed project, they also had a lovely guided tour and talk with staff. This has been an amazing experience for the children to see the process from building site to completion and we are very thankful for the opportunity πππ
