Ok folks you may have heard about this already on social media channels but here is whatвАЩs happening...
Ian Garden, Amanda and I will be heading up Bennachie next Saturday morning with the aim to be on the Mither Tap at 10am. The reason? Two families, just like yours, local families known to you all, have had the worst possible news and it is our aim to generate funds that they can use for whatever THEY choose, be it specialist treatments, bills, making lasting memories for ...the families they leave behind...
In both cases, though you wouldnвАЩt know it due to the determination and upbeat nature of the individuals, the condition is at present, terminal. That is as hard for me to write as it will be for you to read.
So, hereвАЩs the challenge! Will you pledge to join us by registering at the link below (comments) and do something selfless and amazing this Christmas? Come up the hill next Saturday, it will be a morning of memories in itself, once up the top I encourage all of you to take a moment and think of all those who have been lost to us, who have been felled by whatever cruel disease... I will certainly be thinking of Mum.
We donвАЩt care how you come, or who you bring just DO come, bring your kids, bring your hangovers bring your food comas and your dogs, but DO come. Register first and we will provide a breakfast roll & Prosecco at Fennel after.

Open for breakfast from 10am (delivered if youвАЩre not ready to face the world just yet) roasts are beef & Yorkshire pudding or turkey & all the trimmings, lunch is full with pre Panto but space later on and both menus will run all day anyway.

ItвАЩs not all turkey... рЯ¶Г. Our new winter menu runs all through December alongside the Panto and festive menus and features dishes like these starters:
Sweet potato, chilli & coriander cake, salsa fresco. (Vegan)
Aultbea haggis bon bons, whisky mayonnaise.

A few years ago I was honoured to meet fellow Inverurie businesswoman Nicola Cook, who at the time was doing a truly incredible thing...
Quietly and in her spare time Nicola travelled alone to Aberdeen and provided free haircuts to the homeless of the city, on the streets and based at Social Bite, she gave time, compassion and respect.
I was greatly inspired and decided, through the then media part of the group, to try and tell her story. What we discovered as we made the fi...lm was as shocking as it was humbling and in amongst the heart breaking stories we encountered, somehow inspiring.
The part that hit the most for me and IвАЩm sure for the film crew was that there are homeless children right here in Aberdeenshire and that although that was something the good people at Social Bite and Cyrenians had encountered before, it was now a daily occurrence.
We vowed at the time to do whatever we could and thanks to our good friends at RigDeluge we were able to donate thousands of pounds of sleeping bags, raise £10,000s, hopefully raise awareness and most importantly challenge the stigmas associated with homelessness ...
IвАЩve been honoured to help out on Christmas Day for the last few years after being invited by Nicola - helping provide meals at the Social Bite restaurant in Aberdeen along side various colleagues who gave up their time to make sure that the donated meals were available to those with nowhere else to go at Christmas.
рЯОДInspired by Nicola and all the other people giving everything they can to help those less fortunate especially at this time of year, we will donate one meal to social bite for every single gift voucher sold between now and Christmas. рЯОД
For the last few years I have seen with my own eyes the very real difference having a place to go and people to be with makes to those who otherwise had nothing, had nobody.
One very humble and proud gentleman we spoke to was heading after his lunch to sleep in a shed in Rosemount... please let that sink in. It was - 3 outside.
When Nicola asked why there he said because I get less hassle further from city centre. He wasnвАЩt drunk, wasnвАЩt on drugs. HeвАЩd lost his wife and his job, he was struggling...
The line between everything being ok and everything being very different is oh so terribly thin, please donвАЩt forget that!
So we will donate ¬£5 to Social Bite for every voucher sold between now and Christmas but if youвАЩd like to do more we will facilitate that too.
I personally guarantee that this will go to the actual meals cooked and served at the Social Bite restaurant on Christmas Day and in support of all the incredible things they do.

Turkey! Well thatвАЩs the first of the Christmas bookings done! The butter roasted turkey breast is рЯСМ and I might have tried the Christmas cheesecake... рЯ§ЂрЯШЛ
Butter roast turkey, pigs in blankets, traditional skirlie, roast & boiled potatoes, steamed greens, sautéed Brussels with bacon, roast parsnips & carrots, rich gravy.
Roast strip loin of beef, roast potatoes, winter vegetables, confit red onion, red wine jus.

Potted smoked salmon roulette, pickled cucumber relish, oatcakes.

We enjoyed an incredible vegan lunch this afternoon. We shared the crunchy vegetable rolls with peanut sauce, which were delicious! They were filled with rainbow veggies in a very light and crispy roll. I had the slow cooked five bean chilli with basmati rice and my husband had the curried lentil and chickpea burger with all the trimmings. We were too greedy to share pudding so we both had the vegan peanut butter cheesecake with bourbon caramel sauce. Absolutely incredible, a huge improvement to the last time we visited (years ago). They were baby friendly too, which made things easy for us. Highly recommend!

Was recommend Fennel by a good friend Jemma. I could not fault anything, the food was amazing. We had the soup for starter, i was not sure if i would like it but it was a lovely soup. Main we had fillet steak and was cooked to perfection and extremely filling. We did not have dessert, the selection looked yummy wish i could fit one in. There was lovely selection of drinks.

My hubby and I felt very relax and didn't feel we need to rushed like some places I have been in. The staff was so lovely and welcoming.

I would highly recommend , this come our favourite place and will be back я┐╜я┐╜я┐╜

Was in on Friday night for dinner with my wife. We both opted for the King Scallop starter and both agreed it was the best scallops weтАЩd ever tasted, knife glided through it and taste was amazing.

Main courses and desserts equally as good.

As always , cannot fault Fennel, everything absolutely fantastic

This was my first visit to the fennel, was there for lunch with my brother. The food was definitely 5 star, I had the strawberry and basil panna cotta with lime sorbet, it was amazing. Friendly staff and nice surroundings too.

The food is always so tasty! I had the lemon sole yesterday and it was really fresh with a light and crispy batter. Atmosphere always nice day or evening!

Definitely one of my fave places to eat and enjoy!

The best Sunday roast I have ever had. I've had fish and chips the other day and it was yummy, fresh oil, crispy batter etc. In addition they even made bread and butter pudding especially for my family that visited us in Aberdeen. Definitely recommend this place.

Thank you Bill and team Fennel for making our engagement night so special я┐╜. We always love coming and the food and cocktails are delicious я┐╜. Although we were both very boring last night and opted for fish and chips it was super tasty and just what we needed!! We both look forward to many more visits to come я┐╜.

Meeks Burger take over night - awesome! Even on a hectic busy burger night, staff were attentive and kind, taking time as if we were the only customers in the place! Fennel is my 9 year olds favourite place, and the welcome is always warm and friendly , with service being flawlessly smooth - even having a special request dish available for my weeman! From arrival to departure, it was perfect. Food came out beautifully presented, piping hot and in good time. As weeman said in the comment card - awesome, spectacular and fish-tastic! (He loves the table by the fishtank) "Fennel makes me smile like Rainbows do" (Robert, age 9)

Just love Fennel the food is always so good ! Cocktails fantastic! Staff are so good Emma is the best as is Brian and Bill always feel well looked after. Will be back very soon thanks to the whole team !!!

The Cullen Skink was the best I ever tasted, never been so disappointed to finish a bowl of soup in my life.

The main course was Lamb Bunny Chow, chips and fresh salad , a South African curry served in a bread bowl with sweet potato fries, not something I had tried before but I would certainly have it again.

With all being so good I could not resist a desert, ordering a rice pudding with apples,cinnamon and blueberry Ice-cream, I was not disappointed

The service was very friendly and efficient so

I waddled out one very happy customer, and canтАЩt wait to come again.
