I know what I want in life and I make sure I go for what I want to achieve as I don’t want to live a life of regret.
When I’m older and sitting with my grandkids I want to have amazing stories for them. I want to show them that you should never be scared to just go for it and never worry what people think!
... When I wanted to go back packing I was told “don’t be stupid it’s just pie in the sky” when I wanted to become a PT I was told “get a real job that you can actually support a family with” when I wanted to open the studio “who will come to that. Stick to the council gyms” when I opened a gym “who will actually join it you can compete with pure gym and NL” ....if I constantly listened to everyone who doubted me I would never have these stories to add to my autobiography. I’m not done yet and to be fair I don’t think I’ll ever be done. So don’t wait till your old and on your death bed and thinking what if....just go for it....what’s the worst that could happen? You just try again in a different way until you succeed.

A few years ago, the general consensus was that if you wanted to lose fat, you needed to hit the cardio hard. And weight lifting? Well that would make you look like a “bodybuilder” And that’s not the look some people want to achieve ....to look like a bodybuilder is not easy, let’s get that clear. But things are changing, thankfully. Lifting weights really is effective for dropping body fat because muscle burns more calories than fat even when y...ou’re not working out. Women in particular won’t bulk up like some men are able to, but rather create the body they desire.

Everyone will die that’s a fact. You can’t change that. What you can change is your attitude towards life. Don’t bring people down, lift them up. ... Don’t talk down to people, talk them up. Be positive in their negativity. Don’t hate, it’s not worth your energy. Understand it’s just a choice that suited them and not you. Don’t worry what people think. You are you and if they don’t like that, then they don’t deserve your time as it’s too valuable.
You are not the only person facing challenges. You are not the only one who’s went through hard times. You are not the only person who’s been hurt and if you did not face anything head on then your life would be boring and uneventful.
You didn’t have a bad day.... you had a day that taught you something.
Life’s not shit....it just didn’t go to your plan. But know what? Some things happen for a reason.
Look around you, everyone is facing their own battles in different ways and you should remember you never need to face these battles by yourself.

Myself and Laura as well as Coaches Mark and April were honoured to be invited to the wedding reception at Grand Central Hotel.
... Nic has been a Ferri Fit member for a long time now attending Fearless and most of our gym classes, mainly with her cousin, Joanne, her bridesmaid and training partner. Eva, Joanne’s daughter has been getting involved in the wedding training too at family circuits.
Nics strength and confidence with her lifts have been amazing to see and I am sure you will agree she was an extremely beautiful bride.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE YOUTH!
I was very fortune to sit with Bellshill youth work leaders Aileen and Elaine and put together with them a plan to work with Bellshill academy and Cardinal Newman. The goal was to get both of these school to come together and join the Ferri Fit team and take on Tough Mudder as the age limit was now 14+. The training would be over 12 weeks, uniting them as one and getting them to face up to challenges to take on this course.
I actually learned more... over they 12 weeks from them than I ever dreamed to. This group wasn’t like any other I had worked with in the all the years of doing school fitness. They where amazing. They turned up every week. They did as they where told. They slagged my music ...to the point they just played their own. They where an amazing mixture of personalities, ages and backgrounds. They where passionate about helping each other. They didn’t care about what religion, sex or colour you were. They were honestly just brilliant. They all completed the course. They all tried every obstacle. They even helped help our guys with many of them.
Last week John and Lindsay from the youth team came into the gym to see me. They gave me a card from everyone. I didn’t read it all after I glanced at the first nice message so said I would read it that night. Then they gave me an envelope with £180 that they raised for Bowel cancer UK. I broke down. They did this off their own accord. I was overwhelmed by their kindness and how thoughtful they were.
I can’t wait to work with this group again and hopefully our paths will cross in the future. You all have so much potential in life I hope you know this. You honestly can do anything you want in life, remember this and don’t let anyone tell you any different. Never stop being YOU!
