Best of luck to one of the bosses with his move. What an unbelievable ambassador he has been for Glasgow Warriors. Stuart will still be involved in all 3 restaurants and no doubt he will be spotted quality testing our food when back in town.
Don't forget we will be showing the Scotland VS South Africa game on our big screen (with volume) this Saturday at 5.20pm 01419566016 info@finsbay.com to book a table. #rugby #stuarthogg #sru #scottishrugby

We had a fantastic meal at Finsbay last night. We received a voucher as a gift and we will definitely be back. The fish and chips portion was huge and very tasty and the chicken with black pudding dauphinois was amazing. Service was great too.

User

Very nice laid back restaurant, good food & staff are excellent. Highly recommend

User

The best fish & chips I ever tasted! Fresh fish, delicious batter, excellent french fries (and I'm french....). Cosy atmosphere, a place I highly recommend!

User

Should have written a review sooner, but having too much of a good time every time I'm here. Foods great and the cocktail list is something u have to make ur way through! Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or just for drinks, haven't been disappointed yet. Now a regular (+ )

User

Great food and atmosphere as well as music on thursdays at the open mic night with Mic Clark. Beer is good to!

User

First time here to take in music from the brilliant Elemental and thought we would try the food. Excellent starter of scallops & black pudding/ pea puree followed by fabulous sea bass and polished off with amazing cheese cake in a brandy glass. Friendly staff. Nice surroundings and great ambience. We will be back.

User

Fabulous place! Love the decor and playing 'spot what we had in our house when we were growing up'! Brings back fab memories.

I haven't eaten here YET, just had delicious coffee & drinks, but will definitely return for a meal, and I'm sure we'll make it for the open mic night too. Staff were very polite, attentive and friendly, and Kirstie made sure we never went thirsty.

Milngavie has been crying out for a place like this. Highly recommend it!

User

Excellent atmosphere and lovely food. Also a good range of beers.

User

As soon as you come in through the door you're greeted by friendly staff and a warm, vintage feel, relaxed atmosphere. We had a pinot noir and g&t (extensive range of gins and my hubby had the house isle of harris gin) which arrived quickly and was presented well. We ordered and around 15 minutes later our delicious steak burgers & truffle chips arrived. Delicious. Can't fault this place at all. We look forward to returning soon! Thanks Billy, we had an excellent time with our newborn and two year old. Our toddler loved the tv fish tank.

User

Had lunch. I had the black pudding and chorizo salad and double dip fries. The food was delicious and well presented good portion and reasonable price. We did wait about 25 mins on it coming but we arrived right on the changeover from breakfast to lunch so this may have been why the service was a bit slow. However totally worth the wait 10/10 for taste will be back

User

Great food, best breakfast I have had for ages. Love the decor, but service let it down a little

User

Very dissapointed ,was here last night for a friends birthday,it was freezing, and we had to sit with our coats on ,not how we want to enjoy a night out had to leave before nine as it was not enjoyable ,very dissapointed in the red mullet ,all the cockle shells were empty , i was upset as i had been before and enjoyed the food

User

Ate lunch here yesterday with my daughter. The choice of mains on the menu was quite limited and we plumped for the chef special which was chicken and ham pie. It's was delicious, a generous portion, and a rarity- the vegetables that accompanied it were properly cooked. It was quite quiet at the time so was surprised that the food took a while to come. Not absolutely ages but longer than you'd expect so I don't know how they'd cope when busy. Everyone seemed to be working hard innkitchen so maybe just need to invest in more kitchen staff. Staff all very friendly though and pleasant, relaxed interior. Would definitely give it another try.

User

Really disappointed to see what were clearly shop bought cakes in Finsbay today and not for the first time. If your chefs can't come in early to make home made cakes why not at least source them from local bakers such as the honeybee bakery and support local business?

User

Not one member of staff had a smile on their face. Ordered a second glass of red wine only for waitress to come back to say they had run out of that one?! Didn't even offer an alternative, had to get the wine list out and have a look at it myself. Veg burger was hard work to eat as it was so dry. Bit on the expensive side for what you get which certainly wasn't a smile.

User

We have visited a few times and brought in larger table bookings here and never really had any issues. Arrived this afternoon with our small dog, told that we can't be accommodated because they have 6 dogs in...nothing on website to indicate this. Advised by gentlemen on arrival they can allow 6/7 dogs at a time..with our dog it would have been 7! Not even given the option to return in half an hour...very disappointed!

User

Unfortunately what used to be a great kids menu (you could request a half portion of any adult meal), has now been replaced with something akin to Little Chef. Pizza chips, sausage chips, burger chips, you get the picture..... Not one single thing on it that didn’t include fried food and chips.

So having looked forward to a nice lunch with my 4 year old, I just paid for our drinks and left.

User

This was friends of ours your manager needs sacked !!

I had an awful time in Finsbay last night for new year.

Last year was great, this year we were given undercooked bacon rolls that the manager admitted were at cooked least 4hours prior and left out, as well as the waitress..

Then, my husband was outside having a vape and the manager came out to complain about our table to the bouncers, which hubby overheard and said he was part of the party, to which he got "you were here last year, you wrote that post on bearsden community hub, youre barred!". Wouldnt let him back in for anything, and we had 1.5hrs until our taxi.

So thanks Finsbay, not only for mis-identifying someone as that man who "wrote on the bearsden hub" - certainly was not my husband (why would we go back after a crap time? Specially for NYE!), thanks for making us stand outside in rain for an hour and a half waiting for a taxi, thanks for making bacon inedible and using the excuse "well, tickets were only £20 what did you expect" and every other staff saying "you will have to talk to Billy, its all to do with Billy not us".

Awful service, extremely rude and cheeky manager and staff.

At least last year the staff were all friendly and smiley and actually knew how to deal with customers! This year was just awful and topped off by being barred and made to wait 90mins for the bloody taxi!

Wouldnt let him back in for anything, and we had 1.5hrs until our taxi. My husband is just out of the military for medical reasons and standing around for 90mins in the cold did not help.

Every time I spoke to Billy I was made to feel like an idiot or like it was so much effort for him to be listening to me. Horrible person skills.
