Lovely new store with a vast choice of fires and fireplaces.

I placed an order for a fire and fire surround on 8 July, arrangements were made for a surveyor to call and check all was in order. At no time did he say there was a problem so I went ahead with a date for the fitters to attend which was today 21 July, however when they arrived I was told my chimney wasn't the right size so they could not fit the fire. I attended at the store to get my deposit back and all the lady could say was 'sorry about that'. Seriously is this how you do business.
If you choose to ignore this review then please do your research first and get a reputable company to survey and install your fire.
I did read the reviews AFTER I placed my order...lesson learned

Fireside Fireplaces do not take responsibility for the on going satisfaction of their customers, once they have your money they tell you to deal with the fitters even if the issue is with the fire or the surround.
They come up with excuse after excuse in the hope you stop bothering them.

My partner and I visited the Glasgow show room last year and arranged for a new fire place to be installed in December 2016.
First issue - The assistant in the show room wrote down the wrong insert surround details, luckily this was caught before delivery
Second issue - The fitter had to call back to confirm where the nearest gas point was, he had not checked during his pre install visit
Third issue - The fire surround was left dirty and covered in cement after the installation
Fourth issue - One of the decorative walls inside the fire keeps falling over, I am sure this could lead to further problems if it falls all the way over onto the flames
Fifth issue - One of the logs in the fire was left broken
Sixth issue - Fire surround does not appear to have been sized correctly for the fire, some excuse about expansion however we have seen other fires from this company which do not have gaps

Still waiting to have the issues resolve ...

My mother, 86 on Friday, bought a fire and fireplace from Fireside in May 2015. The fire cost 800 pounds.

She registered the fire with Charlton and Jenrick which meant that she is covered for parts after the one-year warranty runs out.

6 weeks ago her fire stopped working. I called Fireplace and they said they'd get someone out to look at it and that they'd get one of their gas fitters to contact me. The gas fitter never got in touch. I was given the gas fitters number and called him. He said he'd call me back with a time to come and see the fire, he never did. I called Fireside back and explained. They said they'd get the gas fitter to contact me, he never did. I was given another gas fitter's number and spoke to him. He said he call me back with a time, he never did.

After several calls, this morning Fireside hung the phone up on me because they said they had no control over the gas fitters and they could not make them call me. Fireside said they would do no more about it.

It was explained to me that the gas fitters are extremely busy. However, so busy that they can't look at their diary, call me and schedule a time to come and see what the problem is with my mother's fire? `This has been really frustrating and I have got absolutely nowhere in 5/6 weeks trying to get the people who were happy to accept my mother's money for her fire give her some after-sales help.

Are gas fitters really so busy that they can't make a phone call and schedule in a visit, even if it is for two or three weeks down the line? Seriously?

Great fireplaces, and built to order on marble / limestone surrounds. Bought, inspected, built and fitted within two weeks.

Recently popped into fireside and ended up walking out with a new fireplace, great service, delivered on the date and time that was stated. Highly recommend.

Just had a limestone fireplace fitted and it's looking great in my home (just in time for Christmas!). Had great service from start to finish and the staff really know what they are talking about.
