Luxury self catering at its best ! we loved it, the house is spacious and light, full of character, very relaxing and a great place to come back to after fantastic days walking in the Galloway hills. Wonderful

This is the best self catering holiday cottage I have been to, the accommodation is perfect, modern yet embracing the character of the old stone building. The location is quiet, rural and yet close to lots of places to see and things to do. Loved the fishing, the walking and the kids just loved running in the fields and we all benefitted from the fresh air. We were lucky with the weather, and we all want to go back tomorrow.

Gillies Holiday Cottage is spectacular, its location is perfect, at the edge of a pasture looking to woodland on the left and the galloway Hills on the right. The self catering house itself is magnificent and well deserving of its 5 star rating. (I have never seen such a large and luxurious bathroom) I loved the area, there is so much to see and do, my favourite was visiting Drumlanrig Castle which is close by, and Thornhill is a lovely small Scottish Town with great charm. I recommend Thomas Tosh for a good lunch. Top notch accommodation in a top notch location.
