Last week we had Ethan in doing a project for his School. Today we were sent the report that he handed in regarding his day at Fitness Takeaway.
My day at fitnesstakeaway I got to Fitness Takeaway at 10am and started doing some jobs helping to keep peoples data private. I was given a humungous box of paper that had at least 2,000 pieces of paper in it, I had to rip out the small rectangle in the top right-hand corner that had personal details on it and place it in a pile to ...be incinerated. It was a very important job but after about an hour I had finally got it finished my hands were a little sore, but I knew I still had work to do. Next, I helped the owner Laura Ferguson do some invoicing and tax returns, I had to read out the invoice number, the invoice address and the date so she could put it into a program on the computer to send to the tax man, then once she had put it in I had to check that the amount of VAT was correct and then put a number on the piece of paper. It was very interesting learning how tax returns worked. After I had finished that I went onto a laptop and I got handed a pile of pink leaflets. I had to enter the number at the top of the pink piece of paper into another program and search for that number then check if the name on the computer matched the name on the piece of pink paper if the name did match then I had to highlight the name and change the “n” to a “y” I think it was something to do with if that person had returned the equipment or not but I’m not quite so sure. After that it was time for lunch, so I walked down to Greggs which is where I usually go and when I got back some of the workers wanted McDonalds, so I walked over to McDonalds and get food. After lunch Paul Ferguson told me he wanted me to lay mats on the floor so me and the workers lifted out the treadmills and rowing machines to the front drive so I could put down the mats. Once I was given the mats it was like a jigsaw because some of the corner pieces didn’t fit together so I had to figure out which way to put them, it wasn’t until I had placed down the first pack that I realized the mats were different shades of green. I had to take loads of mats out so I could make the shades of green like a checkerboard pattern. After that I was given even more mats and eventually when I got to the end I realized I had made the same mistake as I had at the start, so I had to rearrange half the tiles again and finally I finished. We then proceeded to carry all the machines back inside and this is the finished product. To finish my day off I did what I did at the start of my shift only I had to rip the sheets in half this time. When my mum came to pick me up Paul gave me a brown envelope and when I opened it there was £20 in it, so I was very pleased. After a long hard day of work I contemplated how good it would be to work there and I came to a decision that it would be a good job.

Really nice delivery guys and communication between myself and the business has been perfect.
