Beautiful drawing by Olivia (aged 5), who was inspired by her visit to the Beggarstaffs exhibition at It’s Magic this week.

Babies and the Beggarstaffs exhibition! Families have been exploring the exhibition through rhymes, exploratory play and creating their own artworks. We love to see what fascinates little ones at the Museum.

Today we introduced young visitors to the Beggarstaffs exhibition, using a reworked story of Cinderella: who needs a fairy godmother when you can make things yourself?! In the art studio we explored collage and printing techniques and created some fantastic pieces inspired by what we had seen.

This amazing bird was made during an Early Years workshop at the Museum this morning. The young artist thought that other visitors might want to see it too - what do you think?

Today was the final session of our Creative Families course. We explored the Impressionist Gallery with songs, movement and sensory resources before making colourful paintings of our own. We hope these young visitors will be back at the Museum again soon!

Using copies of historic maps our young artists followed in the footsteps of journey men and women from North, Central and Southern Europe to see the ancient artefacts of ancient Cyprus, Greece and Rome in our museum galleries. Recording their findings in thei...r handmade sketchbooks using ink and graphite. What beautiful drawings and a great piece of research, thank you everyone at the session and to Caroline of Wysing Arts Centre Whitechapel Gallery Caroline Wendling

Money, power and politics explored by our artists group Muse with a visit to our exhibition 'Making a Nation' and introduction talk by the curator and assistant keeper of coins and medals Dr Richard Kelleher. In the studio we designed our own contemporary bank notes in ink on paper. Richard then revisited to see out new money and showed a coin and note collection that have been altered to make a statement or comment, plus the artists catalogue from the exhibition 'Cash is King'.One of the contributing artists, Hello the Mushroom facilitated a workshop early this year at the Femme Late.
Have fun identifying our gentle parody's of contemporary world affairs. Many thanks to Muse artists and Richard Kelleher.

Today we have had children from Brunswick Nursery School visiting the Museum. We explored colours through storytelling with art objects, playdough circuits, stop motion animation and play with light and shadows.
