Fly of the Day - ‘CITRUS CANDY BOOBY’
This variant of the popular ‘Candyman Booby’ is tied with our Premium Marabou in Candyfloss Coral and Citrus Chartreuse. The tail and wing combine these colours together to create a block of chartreuse colour in the centre of the fly. The eyes are tied with Flybox 5mm Booby Cylinders and Yellow and the body features new Textreme Medium Pearl Tinsel.

MX-D Mini Fritz was one of the big hits from last season, where it was used to great effect by competition anglers on F.A.B Patterns (Foam Arsed Blobs). The big advantage of using MX-D on FAB Patterns, is that it allows you to tie them on conventional B175 style hooks instead of more traditional wide gaped hooks. This gives the FAB a different, more elongated appearance to a rounded FAB or Blob.
The 2 patterns pictured worked really well at Scotland’s Lake of Mentieth ...and are tied using MX-D in Fl Sunburst & Fl Chartreuse. These were the 2 stand-out colours in this range last year.

Fly of the Day - Fl Yellow ‘Pulling Squirmies’
These hi-viz Squirmy Worms have been working on small waters this year and are particularly effective in coloured water conditions. These are tied in a sparse style and designed for stripping on a sunk line to keep them high in the water. The Fl Yellow colour of Squirmy Legs is the brightest in the range and really stands out in the water.

In summer, with low oxygenated water often making fish quite fussy, it helps to downsize your patterns to get more of a reaction from fish. This method works really well when it comes to egg patterns. The flies pictured here are tied with just a single collar wrap of new Electric Eggstasy, which helps to create a much smaller appearance in the water. We recently visited a wild brown trout loch where this style of egg worked wonders.

For tying tapered stalking bugs, one of the best products on the market is 210 Floss by Textreme. Fly of the Day - Electric “Mohawk” Egg
Tied with new Electric Eggstasy in 3 different colours. The body is Fl Yellow and Fl Chartreuse and the Mohawk is tied with Sockeye. *Tying Tip - Tie in the Sockeye At the back of the hook and once the body is tied, fold over the back and secure behind the head. These 3-tone style eggs are very effective and with a great selection of colours to choose from, you can create lots of variations in this style.
