we where treated to a lovely afternoon lunch by the owners of the Fork and Field as part of Carers of West Lothian. What an amazing thibg you guys did and it was so nice to be looked after for a change. I was so impressed with all team from front of house to kitchen. What can I say the food was amazing it tasted just as good as it looked...huge satisfying portions. The decor is fab and I loved their take on a fireplace or as my gran called it a 'mantlepiece' � thank you so much for your hospitality and the care you showed us all. I can't speak for the rest if the group but I'm sure they will mirror my sentiments. I will be back very soon and will be recommending this place to others. ��

Was in on Sunday and had the roast, was delicious. Food took a little longer than expected around 45 mins but that said would rather wait for well cooked food. We have previously eaten a few times and fork and field has definitely improved recently. Most previous experiences seen at least one dish being sent back. Well done F&F I will be back again soon! Loving the new cocktail menu too, best cocktails in West Lothian, premium spirits used and presented as well as any high end cocktail bar in Edinburgh.

Met here today for a Carers lunch laid on by the owners of the pub. Great pub, food and friendly staff with good service. Thank you x

Lovely staff, varied menu, nice and reasonably priced wine, tasty food, good service. If people say it's slow I can only imagine they came at peak times. 6pm on a Friday and it was slick! Our waitress, Lauren, was excellent too!

Last night we had a lovely evening in the Fork & Field...with winning the Steak Dinner for two on your Facebook competition and what a dinner it was...the starters were beautiful my only suggestion would be to serve them with a salad garish I had the Pate and my husband had the Camembert which he thought would have been nicer served with soft crusty bread (these are only our suggestions the food itself was lovely) the steaks were cooked to the perfection ���, and the desserts were massive and beautiful. �.



After reading some reviews I was a tad concerned regarding service but we were greeted by a smile taken to our table and attended to regularly absolutely no faults!!!



First time there and certainly won't be our last!! Credit where Credit is due ��!!

I am in love with the KoKo is the best thing I’ve ever drank! Had great service from all the staff when I was in and the beef was cooked to absolute perfection �

Had lunch there today.....it was delicious. Service was impeccable and staff were warm and friendly. Thank you Leanne � Will deffo visit again as loads I want to try on menu. New addition to my top 10 list. ��

Fillet steak was lovely, right portion, nice sides and just enough peppercorn sauce. Cooked exactly as I asked. All food really nice and service great too. Will be back

Another great night of dinner and drinks! Food was absolutely delicious (hoping the chicken and avocado special is there to stay!!) the cocktails as always were perfect and the service was fantastic - all the staff were more than accommodating! Would give ten stars if I could!

We had a reasonable meal today at the Fork and Field but the service was incredibly slow. We waited nearly an hour for food which, when there are children in the party, is testing. When I went to ask if our food was coming soon, I was told that roasts sometimes take longer. Really? I don’t imagine the roast was being cooked from scratch when we ordered it...... I was also surprised not to be offered any condiments with my roast and when I asked for some horseradish sauce, was told there was none. Lack of attention to detail.

My son’s chicken strips had obviously been sitting in an oven too long as they were dried out.

Perhaps if we’d ordered starters, we’d not have noticed the wait but it was a long time. It didn’t appear to be especially busy but as it was a Sunday lunchtime, maybe more staff are required?

My husband and I came here for the first time last night and we were pretty disappointed. We find the menu to be overpriced and not really a massive selection to choose from. We both ordered the sliders but there was no pulled pork so they asked if we wanted another beef or chicken and we both said chicken. My husband didn’t eat his beef burger because he didn’t like the texture of it and the chicken was tiny like a chicken nugget so he was still hungry when we got home. My beef burger was raw in the middle and I had to send it back and get another one. The chips that came with the meal were amazing and the almond cake was very yummy hence the 3 star review. We probably wouldn’t be in a hurry to come again.

I booked the fork and field for my 30th birthday to celebrate with my family. The food was lovely and as a big Gin fan loved the choice on the menu. The service however was quite poor. We waited a long time for our food even though it was a Sunday and quiet. The waitress also managed to pour a whole glass of wine over me and although apologised seemed more interested in cleaning up the floor than checking how I was. Sitting in a wet dress put a bit of a dampener on the night.

Food was lovely, good service but we really went along hoping to get a dance as this was mentioned in the advert for this evening. However there was no space to dance. Disappointed at this especially as it had been advertised as a dance event.

In that time no one came to ask us if we would like more drinks or to let us know when our meal would come......when it did arrive my garlic bread was cold, macaroni was dry with no sauce ,had obviously been lying too long! My partners Balmoral chicken was good he said,nothing to write home about though and mashed potatoes were over salted. Chips were excellent though,best part of meal. We then waited for them to clear up,ask us if we wanted to see dessert menu and coffee but no one came so we gave up. We went through to bar paid bill and told girl about our meal. In all honesty they need either to get rid of all their staff or give them some decent training in customer services. .....as my partner said we should have went to black bull where food and customer service are excellent. Maybe they should take a leaf out their book. It was our first time there and we certainly won't be back which is a shame as we eat in mid Calder a lot.

Been in twice now but the menu online has never been available, can only presume its only available on certain days. The menu actually presented on arrival is very basic no steaks etc. The starters were not bad but on both occasions the main meals have been very average, I am afraid service is also extremely slow hence no tip (we usually give a good tip for nice service) which I presume did not please the young waitress as she proceeded to fling our change back to us on the table in a lovely little bucket with some sweets in, speaking no words :-(

Visited from Yorkshire for a relatives 80th birthday. Despite having our order read back to us my meal was forgotten from the order. Meaning the whole table had finished their meal before I had received mine. The restaurant was quiet despite it being Easter Monday and having pre-booked days in advance.

I still had to wait an hour after the rest of the table to have my meal. It spoiled the atmosphere of our big family celebration despite having the value of the meal deducted from our bill.

Sorry guys! I have been a fan since you opened, loved your establishment, decor, food, drinks menu and staff however been left so disappointed this evening. If you can’t get 3 burgers out with over 1 hour wait what hope is there. Thought the burger and shake night was a great idea but your staff clearly can not cope with this, we witnessed a severe lack of any organisation or urgency in the kitchen. We were told it was because it was busy! It wasn’t that busy, I’ve seen it busier with no problems. But if we had been told when we arrived “it’s quite busy tonight there may be a wait” or if someone had noticed that at least 4 other tables had been waiting over an hour without food and came and apologised offered a drink, this would have helped. Your manager must have noticed! We weren’t the first people to leave but instead he was hiding in the corner cleaning cutlery! He should be chasing up the kitchen! Rallying everyone on! When we left there had been food lying under the hot lamps for over ten minutes, sadly still wasn’t ours. You seem to have lost a lot of good staff recently and it shows. This was a family birthday treat! Ended up eating a Mcdonalds at home after a 2.5 hour round trip to you without food! Will not be recommending any more, very sad.

Why have a telephone if no one answers it!!! Every time I call no one answers, it doesn't matter what the time is. Surely the business on the other end of the telephone is just as important as the person already there ��
