Well done to local Rothes lass Becca Gilchrist who has just completed her final round of climbing comps this season, coming an overall 2nd in the UK. She brought a silver medal home from Manchester which is a great result.
This means she now qualifies to try for Team GB in February. At a young age, this is a huge achievement!!
Forsyths generously sponsored Becca this year towards her coaching and competition expenses so we are pleased to see her do well in her paraclimbing.

Today we had a charity fun day at Forsyths, all in aid of BBC Children in Need!
We had some pretty spectacular bake sales, guess how many sweeties in the jar, a dress down to work day plus a lucky squares competition with many donating prizes. A big thanks to the following for supporting us: L And C McBain, The Station Hotel, Marshall's Farm Shop and Tea Room, Walkers Shortbread, The Delnashaugh Hotel, Slater Menswear, and a few others not on Facebook that have also been so k...ind!
Rothes, Buckie and Aberdeen sites all took part and we have raised a total of £1062.95 today.
Incredible effort from all, especially the Admin staff for organising and a big thank you to everyone for their generosity. I think the workshop were fair chuffed to be part of the fun!!
Richard Forsyth has very kindly matched our fundraising total, very generous of Forsyths, and therefore our final total for Children in Need is £2125.90 :D

A huge Congratulations to Kenny Wilson for winning the Senior Sports Athlete of the year Award for achieving excellence within Athletics. Forsyths Sponsor this award annually and Richard went along last night to present this to Kenny. A further congrats are in order as not only did he win the above accolade, but he also went on to win the Sports Personality of the year. This is a great achievement for a local Craigellachie lad. He represented Scotland in road racing 3 times t...his year and also took home a bronze medal in the Lillebaelt Half Marathon in Denmark.
In addition to this, we want to say a huge well done to a few others:
Callum Cruickshank, from Dufftown, for being nominated in his category, Junior Sports Athlete. We sponsor Callum, a keen footballer! He plays for Under 14s Ross County and recently played out in Costa Daurada, Spain. Great Effort Callum!
Hamish McBain, has been a dedicated tennis player for 50 years in Rothes, and across Scotland, currently Secretary of Highlands Tennis. Hamish went on to win the SALSC Local Service to Sport Award. Massive well done from us all at Forsyths!
Keith Ross, another local sport enthusiast, runs the Speyside Football Boys League, and has done since 1989. He volunteered as a coach for Rothes Rovers FC more than 30 years ago until the mid 90s. Keith's wife Margaret, worked at Forsyths in the admin office for many years so it was good to see Keith nominated for the SALSC Local Service to Sport Award. Well done Keith!
A final congrats to you all, it is great to see such dedication in your various sporting interests, and volunteering in Rothes is thought very highly of in the community.

**Forsyths welcome HRH The Duke of York**
Monday was a very exciting day for Forsyths. We hosted The Duke of York at our Rothes site, alongside Lord Lieutenant of Moray, Grenville Johnston. On arrival, both were greeted by Jim Royan - Vice Lord Lieutenant and Richard Forsyth and some onlookers from the Rothes community awaiting the anticipated arrival.
Following a briefing and tour of the workshops, all staff congregated on the top floor of our offices to be presented with th...e Queen’s Award for Enterprise – International Trade by the Lord Lieutenant and The Duke. Grenville and HRH congratulated Richard and the staff for their hard work and team effort to receive such an accolade, a great achievement and one we are all very proud of.

There was a bit of a 'fun' football competition on Friday night between Grants and Advanced Electrics Ltd, all in aid of charity. Congratulations to the players from Grants who won 5 - 1. There was a bucket collection on the night which raised £1,200, a massive achievement. Both companies then matched this, donating £1,200 each to the Medical Ward at Aberdeen's Children's Hospital.
Well done to all involved.
