About Forth Valley First Responders
Forth Valley First Responders are volunteers trained by The Scottish Ambulance Service to attend 999 emergencies before the arrival of an Ambulance.
Forth Valley First Responders Description
The Resuscitation Council (UK) states that a First Responder is βa person, trained as a minimum in basic life support and the use of a defibrillator, who attends a potentially life-threatening emergency. β
A Community First Responder is a local volunteer who agrees to undertake training in Basic Life Support, This then enables them to provide life saving treatment to those people within the community who are critically ill, in the first few minutes prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

Following our post from yesterday evening, it is with regret that we are having to suspend front line operations until further notice, based on direction from The Scottish Ambulance Service around COVID-19
The decision was a difficult one for the service to make, following a risks/benefits analysis.
We hope to be operational again soon
