Our At-Home Sessions are in full swing! If you haven't seen them or aren't already a member then be sure to request to join the club's private Facebook group called 'FVGC members only group' (only current members will be accepted).
We love seeing your videos so keep sending them in and if you're wanting a challenge then we present to you the #FV3MinuteChallenge ! 💪
Everyone can take part and the aim is quite simple - try and complete all the tasks in 3 Minutes! Be sure to video it or timelapse it and post it/send it in/comment it with the hashtag #FV3MinuteChallenge 🏋️

CLUB CLOSURE - 18TH MARCH 2020
Dear Members and Gymnasts,
I have decided that unfortunately today, 18/03/2020 at 9pm we will be closing our doors to all classes until further notice.... This has been a very difficult decision for the club and it is with great sadness that this is happening, but the safety of our gymnasts, coaches and families is our highest priority. We would like to assure all members that we will be doing our best to ensure there is ongoing communication to all members, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for regular updates. If you haven't already done so then join our Private Facebook Group for members only by searching "FVGC Members only Group" We will review the situation regularly and hope to have all classes back up and running as soon as we can. COVID-19 UPDATE 17th March 2020
We are following advice from Scottish and British Gymnastics and the Scottish Government.
... As a club, we intend to still operate as usual until government intervention. In order to protect everyone at Forth Valley Gymnastics we are implementing the following rules which MUST be adhered to:
- Every person entering the facilities must wash their hands before entering the gym. - Anyone who is unwell (e.g. headaches, sore throat etc.) must not attend classes until fully recovered. - Anyone who has relatives who show symptoms of COVID-19 must also not attend classes. - Any person showing symptoms will be sent home.
We are increasing our cleaning routine of all equipment, including all mats, blocks and apparatus.
If at any point we need to cancel classes we will inform members via email and social media. If you are not already a member then request to join our private members group on Facebook by searching “FVGC members only”.
If at any point you need to self-isolate then inform the club via Private Message or via email at info@forthvalleygymnastics.co.uk

URGENT NOTICE REGARDING TEAMGYM NORTHERN QUALIFIER IN NEWCASTLE
Teamgym Northern Qualifier is Cancelled.
British Gymnastics received a phone call at 16:41 today, to inform us that Northumbria University had made the decision to cancel our booking for the TeamGym Northern event this weekend, due to an emergent situation related to Coronavirus within the City of Newcastle.
...
Subsequently the Chief Executive, Jane Allen and I spoke to senior management at the University to understand the events that had led to their decision and to ask if they would be willing to reconsider this situation.

Unfortunately the decision they had reached was final and we have requested a formal statement from the University to explain their decision and why British Gymnastics were only informed at such short notice. We have received the following from them:

“Northumbria University has advised British Gymnastics at 4pm, 5 March 2020 that we have taken the decision to cancel the TeamGym Northern Qualifier 2020 event to be held this weekend. This is part of a review of all major events that are due to take place within our Sport Central facility over the coming months.
We apologise for the inconvenience and disruption that this has caused to their members”.

We have since spent some time trying to source a suitable alternative venue, but we have been unable to do so.

Unfortunately therefore we have been left with no alternative, but to make the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s event.

British Gymnastics are so sorry that this has happened, as we are only too well aware of the disruption that this will cause to plans already made, for the disappointment for the gymnasts who were due to take part and the costs that will have been incurred at this stage.

We are now focussed on ensuring that everyone involved in the event is aware of this cancellation, so that they do not make the journey to Newcastle.

In the coming days we will issue further communications with regard to the refund of entry fees and alternative arrangements that we will make with the Technical Committee regarding the qualification for the 2020 British Championships.

Once again, we are so sorry for this decision has been communicated to us with such short notice, but hope that you can appreciate that this decision was totally out of the control of British Gymnastics

At such short notice, we would be most grateful if you could communicate this information to all of your gymnasts and parents and we will also be publishing this message on the British Gymnastics website and social media channels
