☀️HOT WEATHER - WATER SAFETY☀️
Today (25th July), is going to be one of the hottest days of the year so far and because the schools are off, a lot of children and young adults will want to cool off and enjoy playing in and around water.
There were 585 accidental drownings in the UK & NI last year, with a disproportionate number of those being male (7 males to 1 female), and 1 in 5 are children aged 14 or under.
... Rivers and beaches are the most common areas for accidental drownings, however you need to be aware of the dangers of all bodies of water, including recreational pools and quarries. Natural water will have hidden dangers that are not obvious from the surface and the water can be very cold.
If you or your children are venturing into or around water on these hot days, please be aware of the dangers and stay safe.
