Telephone update. Hello , some of you have told us that you are having trouble getting through to us on the phone lately. Can we just explain that this is because we are all working from home to keep everyone safe and are on call divert . This means that instead of the usual 3 lines ringing in the office , we only have one line and if it is busy it gets diverted round a link of five people . As this is our busiest time of year normally, the phone rings non-stop so you can appreciate that we are doing our very best in these difficult times and we ask for your patience and understanding. There are also two other ways to contact us You can email us to reception@forthvalleyvets.co.uk or message us privately here on our Facebook page and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Stay safe everyone .

** Horse vaccinations **
We are currently unable to complete any vaccines at the moment as we are following guidance from BEVA - The British Equine Veterinary Association and the RCVS - Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. This guidance recommends that all veterinary practices operate on an emergency only service during the restrictions to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
We realise many horses will be due vaccines at this time and we ask that these are delayed until our... service resumes as normal. If you miss the vaccine window we will be offering a vaccine amnesty to help you cover any additional costs.
Thank you for all your understanding at this difficult time - we will keep you updated with any further information 😊

⚠️ COVID-19 Update 24/3/20 - Please Read ⚠️
In light of the recent lockdown measures announced last night and recommendations from the British Veterinary Association, we are going to stop completing all routine work for the foreseeable future.
We will continue to provide 24/7 emergency services and have vets available for telephone advice where necessary.
... At this point in time it is important that we help protect our team, our clients and community by promoting social distancing and reducing the spread of COVID-19. As a practice we will always protect animal health and welfare however we now have an additional duty to protect human health and to help reduce the pressure on our NHS.
Our vets and receptionists are all working from home, as our offices are closed. The normal working telephone hours have changed from 8am - 5pm, outwith these hours our on call vet will assist with any emergencies.
We would ask that you give us 24 hours notice when ordering any medication. This will allow us to label and prepare in advance before collection, we are hoping to deliver essential medications where possible.
Any further questions please contact the practice and we will do our best to help.
Stay safe everyone and stay at home ❤️

Just a wee reminder folks to limit the number of people when a vet is attending a call, to one person per horse . We have to minimise the risk to our vets to enable them to keep working and be able to come out in an emergency situation.

⚠️ For attention of all clients in relation to Coronavirus COVID-19 ⚠️
Due to the current situation with coronavirus we are taking the following precautions; • If you have a vet visiting we ask only one person to attend if possible to minimise the risk of infection to yourselves and our team • If you are showing symptoms, or someone else in your household is then please consider the health of our staff too. Please ask someone else to be present for the visit... • Where possible please make any payments by card rather than cash
Thank you for your cooperation during this time. Further official advice will follow as we receive it.

If you have four or more horses at the same yard, booked in for treatment on the same day, you can each receive a free visit. Perfect for routine vaccinations and dentals to organise with friends 😊

Do you have a smallholding?
We have created a group which you can join to interact with other smallholders in the area. This group will help with sharing and splitting vaccine bottles, and it allows you to gain advice from other smallholders and ourselves.
Please request to join if you would like to become part of our smallholder group 🐑

We are having queries about the location of our practice in Perth as it can be challenging to find! We are based in Inveralmond Industrial Estate on Inveralmond Road (this road is opposite Highland Industrial Supplies).
Our receptionist, Carol, can sort out any medication or orders which you require from Mon-Fri 8.30am - 1.30pm. Contact her on 01738 231069 (if lines are busy you will be diverted to Stirling).
Please call us if you need directions or have a look at the map in this post :)

Save 30% off your visit if you book on your zonal day. These days allow you to have a reduced visit rate for routine/everyday appointments. (Not applicable to emergencies). These days do fill up quickly so book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Check here which zonal day correlates with your area.

**Horses versus weather**
The recent wet weather causes all sorts of issues for horse owners . Whether it is lack of turnout or lack of exercise , feet problems , colic !! We would like to hear from you about your experiences and how you and your horse cope.............
