About Fostering In Moray

The Moray Council`s fostering team provides care for individual children and sibling groups.
We recruit and support foster carers throughout Moray.

Fostering In Moray Description

We are looking for people who have time, patience and flexibility to become a foster carer. You will also need to have space in your home and a willingness to work closely with the Social Work Department. Foster carers can be employed / unemployed / retired / single with or without children / all ethnic backgrounds or religions, home owners or tenants.

We recruit foster carers who can provide temporary and permanent care for children. Children come into foster care for many reasons, some may be at risk of physical or emotional harm and need a safe home environment.
Foster carers work closely with social workers and others professionals including school, health and sometimes directly with parents.

Specific qualifications are not necessary but you should be prepared to take on the challenge of caring for a child who may have complex needs. People who foster for us say that a good sense of humour is essential and you will need to be able to sensitively tackle a variety of issues. Above all, an interest in children, enthusiasm and a good level of energy is essential. We will provide you with training and ongoing support needed to prepare you for the role of becoming a foster carer.
