#Repost @theurbanbarefoot showing the silliness of where modern “medicine” has ended up 👣 Humans are funny creatures . It’s not that we do things wrong, it’s that the things that used to serve us way back when don’t anymore... . In the social behavior book “I’ll Have What She’s Having”, the authors make a compelling argument that copying (social learning) is one of the main reasons we exist in such large and dominant numbers. It’s why Homo sapiens rule over other species on this planet . But that quality has been leveraged by big companies (including pharma) and is now threatening to wipe us out . We live in a new environment with new threats to our existence. We have to modify our strategies or we’re not going to be around much longer . Powerful info below from @youniverseinyou: . There are real ways to truly change your life for the better, rather than putting a temporary (potentially harmful) bandaid over things . I went from too sick to walk a few feet without oxygen, struggling with finding my direction and passion to feeling great and living my dream career . How did I do it? I made a plan. I worked hard to reach my goals and decided my story wasn’t over. You can learn to take control of your mind and your life. Life is too short for nonsense. It’s time to start living your best life 👣 #thefootcollective #barefoot #backtobarefoot #healthcare #sickcare #health #wellness #copycat #social #socialize #sociallearning #socialdynamics #physics #adaptation #adapt #survive #smart #pharma #surgery #pills #medicine #naturalhealing #lifestylechange #makeithappen #foundationtraining

Kat here! 🧡 👆 Here I am at my first race weekend since my knee operation with @mmftinstructor in beautiful Keswick!
Exactly 222 days before this picture, I woke up from my ACL reconstruction of my left knee. It sounds a long time but it's been a long process of careful rehab! My left foot wouldn't flex, my quad had fully gone to sleep and my hamstring now had one less piece of muscle to support my leg! I was well and truly out of balance!
I have persoanlly experienced many in...juries and rehab programmes but this time I have solely used Foundation Training to bring me back to strength and fitness. It has been so important to train my body as a whole to recovery from surgery. Strengthening my body evenly has prevented isolation of muscle toning but also prevented my body for compensating from my weakened leg. Deep structural muscles usually overlooked in rehab programmes have been the key to a quick and set-back free recovery.
Injury is something familiar to most of us and surgery unfortunately is something some of us have to go through. Give your body the best chance of recovery and find a way to get back to doing the things you love! ‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Ä î Contact us to find out more about Foundation Training: üñ• www.ftinstructors.co.uk üë• www.facebook.com/ftinstructors üê¶ Twitter: @ftinstructors

Our heavily seated, modern lives pull us into external rotation of the hips which draws us away from using our adductors correctly on a daily basis.
Our adductor muscles, which run up the inside of the thighs, are incredibly important but completely overlooked in conventional treatment therapies and fitness training.
Conventionally, the emphasis, when dealing with ‘tight’ hips, is on opening them and stretching out the inner thighs to create more flexibility. But this is onl...y exaggerating the problem allowing the hips to fall further into external rotation.
For the hips to be truly supported and balanced, the adductors (which literally pull the hips into the sockets) have to be active and strong.
How do we do this? With one of the core principle of Foundation Training - ‘Anchoring’!
The process of anchoring activates and strengthens the adductors to balance and support the hips. Working the inner thighs in this way is completely different to most conventional hip exercises but the result and functional hips and free lower backs!
