A bit of artistic license here as I couldn’t think of an appropriate M initialled alcohol 😆
Alcoholic ArtFarm Summer Season. Join us on a (hopefully) balmy and intoxicating summer evening in the studio for a sociably creative workshop partaking of a wee dram or two while we work. Ideal as a gift, or for those who feel a bit uptight about letting their creativity loose! Step-by-step instruction. Maximum of four places. £25 for a two-hour workshop, tipple included (other alcoh...olic variations available if preferred, don’t be put off if it’s not your favourite swally!)
A mandala ( Sanskrit: मण्डल, maṇḍala; literally "circle") is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically. This is a very relaxing, rum-accompanied workshop where we focus on the drawing of the mandala, then use distress inks to create a beautiful blended background.

Ideal as a gift, or for those who feel a bit uptight about letting their creativity loose! Step-by-step instruction. Maximum of four places. This is a two-part workshop due to the techniques involved, on Wednesdays 24th and 31st July, and costs £35, tipple included (other alcoholic variations available if preferred, don’t be put off if it’s not your favourite swally!) We’ll be using a range of mixed media techniques to create a music-themed canvas, including texture, embellishments, stencils, embossing inks, distress inks, as well as several varieties of gin.

The studio workshops have had to take a back seat recently due to the success of the ArtBeam projects, but I’m resurrecting them for the summer with a bit of a sociable twist!...

Well the Teeny ArtFarm trial was a great success! Many many thanks to all the wee guinea pigs - oops, sorry of course I mean wee participants, and their mummies, grannies and grandpas 😆 The age range was from 5 weeks to 3yrs, and everyone did seem to enjoy themselves. And going by the mummies in the photos, it was sometimes difficult to see who was having the most fun!

Any grannies or grampas out there on babysitting duties on Wednesday 10th April? Places still available for the Teeny ArtFarm multisensory session for babies 0-3 years - music , puppets and Makaton signing. Please get in touch if you’re interested.

Managed to make a start yesterday on a long overdue commission, waiting for two days in a row with no other commitments, and woke up this morning with conjunctivitis, canny see! 😂 Sorry Frankie! Here’s a wee taster 😆

User

Delighted to say that the Teeny ArtFarm has proved so popular I’ve been able to add a second session! More places available!

Please have a look at the video (put SNAP into the search box) and cast your vote -you might see a couple of familiar faces! SNAP is a much needed holiday club for children with additional support needs, a lifeline for many parents during school holidays and always over subscribed. If they win the award they’ll be able to split the club into primary and secondary stages, doubling the amount of places available. Please vote!

Branching out! At a suggestion from my 10 month old grandson (!) I’m doing a Teeny ArtFarm multisensory storytelling session at East Kilbride Arts Centre on the morning of Wednesday 10th April for babies and toddlers 0-3years. Looking forward to it immensely because I’ve practised it on the grandson 😄

It's been a week of performances and presentations! Today my amazing group at the Murray Owen Centre performed their Space soundpiece and the Story of the Dragon Stoorworm to a very appreciative audience including the football squad who we'd evicted from the hall 😃 Great audience participation, and fabulous dancing at the end! Yesterday I said I loved my Wednesday work, and today was a terrific Thursday 😄 Feeling very lucky 😃👍

There’s nothing more joyous than group singing - except when it’s an inclusive group of kids thoroughly enjoying themselves performing the two songs they’ve been learning to an audience for the first time. Love my Wednesday work!😄🎶

Spent an inspirational evening at the Glad Cafe in Shawlands with a group of like-minded people sharing music resources and ideas, led by Emily of Hear My Music. Just heading off to eBay to order more boomwhackers... 😆

A huge WELL DONE 🎉🎉 to the P1s in R3 at Carluke Primary! After 6 weeks of ArtBeam workshops they presented their performance to parents today. They’ve learned to listen, sit and take their turn, resist the impulse to explore all the resources ALL the time, contribute to the soundstory, act with puppets, use percussion, follow routine, use Soundbeams and switches, and present their finished piece. What an achievement!

Wearing my stripey socks as I head off to the Murray Owen Centre for their ArtBeam workshop 😀 Susan Gracie do you recognise this wee body 😀❤️

A wee bit of publicity for the ArtFarm - West Mains School had a fab display at South Lanarkshire Council’s Education Showcase today and yesterday, including artwork and photos from Room 4’s recent ArtBeam workshops 😀

Thankyouthankyouthankyou Fee! I won't publicly admit that I'm Christmas crafting in November (!) but it was truly joyous & I cannot wait for the next. Your guidance & encouragement gives even the least crafty, the courage & freedom to explore & create, while the sublime setting inspires & relaxes even the most fraught. Where did the time go? It passed in a heartbeat. Art truly is therapy & I totally want to live in the shed now! I simply cannot recommend your courses highly enough.

My Daughter went to Fiona's art classes, and loved them. It is normally a fight to get Keira out of the house on a Saturday morning, but she got up excited every Saturday morning at the though of going. She is now looking forward to January so she can go back again.

Just spent the best few hours here cant wait till next Wednesday. Did the Batik workshop with Fiona loved it. Thank you so much

User

Just finished the four week Art Journalling class-it was so enjoyable and messy and therapeutic. Can't wait for the next one! Thank you, Fee.

I think it only 2 pieces of Fee's art work that I have but I love them all. One was a commission that I had her do for my parents and the other is a piece that I had to have when I saw it at one of Fee's open house gallery day a few years ago.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the 4 Mindfulness Art Workshops at Freerange ArtFarm. I have learned new art skills - in a very relaxed and calm environment. The artwork was absorbing. I would definitely sign up for another 4 weeks of part 2 workshops if they were available!

Thank you.

First session of the Art Journalling project. Really enjoyed experimenting with new media and grabbing some of the creative ideas that were flying about. Lovely company and lovely environment. Chicken soup for the soul.
